Landen Owens, who was 16 at the time of his Dec. 2017 arrest, was charged with first-degree sodomy of a child younger than 12.

More than two years after his arrest, Owens was found guilty and sentenced to three years in prison.

The case was handled by the Prattville Police Department and, due to the nature of the crime, Owens was charged as an adult.

After looking through a lot of sex offender registries (like, the whole list for WV, much of OH, some West Coast etc), I’ve found that a disproportionate number of them (vs the general population) have a LOT of facial asymmetry. Which got me to wonder: is a person with such defective genes a sex offender because there is some genetic component to such behavior; or, does someone with such asymmetry become a sex offender because they are less attractive to others and have a harder time getting consensual partners because they’re so butt ugly? (This latter theory is based on studies showing that people find others with symmetrical faces to be more attractive.)

I have no idea, but I’m curious.
