Holy crap, it looks like the conveniently deceased brother transported the bodies!
Or helped bury them. And then dropped dead shortly after. Just another coincidence I'm sure.

Lots of info in the article I've linked to. And it also has links to lots more.
Shocking revelations about the manner in which “cult dad” Chad Daybell appears to have disposed of the remains of his new wife Lori Vallow’s two kids have been revealed, casting a further pall over an already grim case.

These gory details come from an 11-page affidavit of probable cause that Idaho Magistrate Judge Faren Eddins unsealed on Friday. The document also describes in exacting detail how investigators used cell phone pings from Lori’s late brother, Alex Cox, on two key days in September, to lead them to Chad Daybell’s backyard. The evidence suggests that Alex transported the remains of his sister’s kids to Chad’s property for disposal.

The probable cause affidavit concerns the alleged crimes of Chad Daybell, a doomsday-obsessed evangelist tied to a murky cult known as Avow, a Mormon splinter sect. The tall and burly man was arrested on June 9, shortly after the remains of JJ Vallow, 7, were discovered buried on his Salem, Oregon, property. (The remains of Tylee Ryan, 17, would be uncovered soon thereafter.) Lori’s two kids had last been seen in September and had been the subject of a sprawling investigation that got underway just after Thanksgiving. Lori, who married Chad in early November, only weeks after his previous wife died, was arrested for child desertion in February. Chad has thus far been charged with two felony counts of concealment or destruction of evidence.

According to East Idaho News, investigators found the kids’ foul-smelling remains in a horrifying state when they searched on Chad Daybell’s property earlier this month.

Whether they were dead then or not, it looks like he definitely took them to Chad to bury. Chad even texted an excuse to Tammy, his wife, that he had burned fallen tree limbs and shot and buried a raccoon. That's when Tylee disappeared. Alex was there two hours.
The excuse for the sound of a gunshot makes me think she was shot there. I think Chad must have pre dug her grave as there's no way Alex could dig a grave, put her in it and pull slabs of stone over then fill it in, in that amount of time. But he could have put her in it and filled it in if it was ready to do that.
Keep in mind, Chad was a grave digger earlier in his life.
When JJ disappeared, he was only pH pinged there for 17 minutes.
So just dropped a body off for Chad to bury, I would say.
So far no one knows if they were dead before they got to Chad's or dead after.

The dead children of doomsday-obsessed mom Lori Vallow appeared to have been “tortured” — with one found wrapped in plastic while the other was dismembered and burned, according to reports and records.

Recently unsealed documents in the case against Vallow’s new husband Chad Daybell — charged with concealing the bodies — give gruesome details on how Joshua “JJ” Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 17, were found.

The first human body authorities found while digging at Daybell’s Idaho property was “wrapped in black plastic,” the unsealed affidavit says.

“The plastic appeared to be tightly wrapped around the body and secured with gray duct tape,” the document states. The East Idaho News says it was the wrapped body of JJ, with a white plastic bag also over his head.

The second body was then found next to a fire pit that had also been used as a pet cemetery, the documents show, where bodies of cats and dogs were also found.

Officials found two human bones — then “several other items” scattered around, including “other bones, charred tissue and charred bones.”

“Tylee’s remains were burned. She was dismembered. She was buried in the ground,” East Idaho News reporter Nate Eaton told Fox Nation’s “Crime Stories with Nancy Grace.”

Dabell, 51, was “continuously watching where officers were searching” during the dig, the affidavit said.

“It’s not like these bodies were simply buried in a decent manner. They were tortured, in a way,” he insisted.

It was not clear if the remains were dismembered before or after the death, Eaton said.

I hope they get the death penalty.

How is this evidence of them being tortured?

“It’s not like these bodies were simply buried in a decent manner. They were tortured, in a way,” he insisted.

Linguistic shenanigans.

Agreed, someone is reaching, it sounds like. The attribution for my quote is very murky, due to poor writing. Sounds like it was most likely "East Idaho News reporter Nate Eaton", who would not be in a position to judge whether or not the bodies actually showed signs of torture, anyhow.

The families of Joshua "JJ" Vallow and Tylee Ryan are one step closer to justice.

JJ and Tylee's mother, Lori Vallow, and her husband, Chad Daybell, were indicted on Tuesday, May 25 by an Idaho grand jury on multiple counts of murder, documents obtained by E! News show.

A Fremont County Grand Jury indicted both Lori and Chad on the charges of Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder and Grand Theft by Deception for the death of Tylee, First Degree Murder for the death of Tylee, Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder and Grand Theft by Deception for the death of JJ and First Degree Murder for the death of JJ.

Additionally, Chad was indicted on the charge of First Degree Murder in the death of his previous wife, Tammy Daybell, whose body was exhumed in December 2019 after authorities began an investigation into JJ and Tylee's whereabouts when they went missing in September 2019. Lori and Chad were both indicted on the charge of Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder in Tammy's death.

The grand jury also indicted Lori, 47, on one charge of Grand Theft related to Social Security survivor benefits in connection to her deceased children, and indicted Chad, 52, on two counts of Insurance Fraud related to a life insurance policy he received benefits from after Tammy's death.

Chad Daybell laughs in first court appearance following murder charges
Chad Daybell, the husband of “doomsday” mom Lori Vallow, laughed and smiled during his first court appearance Wednesday since being charged with murdering his stepchildren and his ex-wife.

Dressed in a white button-down shirt and a red tie, Daybell, 52, had a slight smile on his face when the virtual court appearance kicked off at 11 a.m. local time in Fremont County, Idaho.

When Judge Faren Eddins asked if Daybell could hear him, he broke out into a toothy grin and appeared to laugh before leaning forward and answering, “Yes.”

As Eddins then read out the eight charges against Daybell — which include raps of first-degree murder for the death of Vallow’s two kids, 17-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow, and ex Tammy Daybell — the prolific doomsday writer maintained a slight smile on his otherwise emotionless mug.

Seemingly crazy, outrageous religious beliefs =/= mentally incompetent.

This is fucking absurd. She has no mental illness, she just chooses to believe in zombies and magic and other nutter shit. There's a difference. Shocking the State did this, shocking. Idiots.

Very curious what the Idaho laws are regarding this sort of thing. There are states where a person is simply let go. There are no laws on the books to keep them permanently removed from society until their minds are fixed so they can stand trial. They are simply released and the prosecution just flat out goes away cuz theyre nuts. She very well may have gotte na get out of jail free card

Naw, she going down, sooner or later. I think the main thing is her attorney is basically incompetent and the judge is kinda bending over backwards as to not give them a reason for a new trial. And I think Idaho is just fucking slow as thick molasses caught in an ice age glacier and then add Covid on top of that, well you get the picture.

It was a fresh start all right, but not in California. Around September 1, 2019, Lori, Tylee and JJ moved into a town home in Rexburg, Idaho — not far from where Chad Daybell lived with his wife, Tammy. Lori's brother, Alex Cox, the man she considered her protector, moved into the same complex.

Morgan Loew: Lori sort of viewed Alex as the destroyer of bad things in her eyes … he was there to take care of the problems.

It appears the first problem was a 16-year-old girl: Tylee Ryan.

Morgan Loew: We know that in the spring of 2019, Lori started referring to Tylee as a zombie, to at least one of her close friends.

One of those close friends was April Raymond.
