On March 26, 2021, officers from the Kokomo Police Department responded to Community Howard Regional Health, 3500 South Lafountain Street, in reference to a report of a suspected child abuse/neglect. A 2-month-old baby was brought into the hospital and was diagnosed with a skull fracture and broken/fractured ribs. The baby was later transported to Riley Hospital where additional injuries were detected, including fractures to each of the baby’s limbs.

During the course of the investigation, investigators identified the suspect as the baby’s father, Chase A. Williams, age 20 of Kokomo. Chase was arrested without incident on March 29, 2021.

Chase was charged with Aggravated Battery, Level 3 Felony, Domestic Battery on a Child Less Than 14 with Serious Bodily Injury, Level 3 Felony, and Invasion of Privacy, A-Misdemeanor. Chase is currently incarcerated at the Howard County Criminal Justice Center.
