"A Boonton mother was charged after she admitted giving unprescribed medications to her 11-year-old daughter, who was found dead in her apartment Monday, court documents show.

Shay Mooney, 34, was charged with child endangerment after police responded to a call of a deceased child and found Mooney's daughter unresponsive next to a bottle of prescription drugs, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Mooney told police that her daughter suffered from a medical condition causing pain, but that she had not been prescribed medication by physicians due to her age, the affidavit said.

Mooney said that she suffered from the same condition as her daughter and that she gave her daughter 10 milliliters of Oxycodone, a narcotic used to treat pain, and Seroquel, a brand of medication used to treat mood disorders, along with other medications from her own prescriptions, the affidavit said."

God damn, what was she thinking? Best case scenario is that the kid becomes addicted to the oxy. And we have no idea what mom mixed it with besides Seroquel. There could have been an allergic reaction. One that would have been treatable, had the girl actually been treated by a doctor.... Now she lives with this for the rest of her life.

You know all that medication builds up in her system as a nurse as well as I do. Also, if the child was constipated, which all of that medication does, the toxicity was building horrendously. All of those medications effect breathing as well. She could have suffered medication overload seizures and withdrawal. I wonder if she was buying off the streets and fentanyl.. if mom was taking her meds as prescribed where did the medicine come from. Nurse to nurse this kid didn't have a chance. I honestly feel this mom was trying to help. She assumed in her mind if she could take it like that mini could as well.

Why are we hoping for that?
NOT hoping that.. explanation of syringes.. why she would have them around.. you asked how they fit in.. she's a full blown rock bottom junkie..

Edit to say NOT shooting the daughter up.. missing a word I apolize..

The 11-year-old suffered from a medical condition that caused pain, but her doctors would not prescribe her pain medications due to her age, Mooney said, according to the affidavit.

Mooney, who has the same diagnosis her daughter had, had been giving the girl pills from her own prescriptions for several months, records say.

Officials also say the family’s apartment was "in serious disarray” with medications, pill bottles and syringes.

Can’t relate, been on winter break so long I no longer know if it’s day or night, let alone what day of the week it is. I’m starting to forget what I actually do for a living. All I know is it’s possible to eat 6,000 calories a day on gas station food.

PS: Now people will think I’m asking you why we are hoping that she was NOT injecting her. Oh, well-my bad as I should have known that’s what you meant.

Added.. EDIT to add NOT..

Maybe mom was so consumed with her own pain and not being able to help her daughter's suffering she made a terrible choice.

I wonder if the mom and the girl had any support systems to help them.
Too many unanswered questions.
Dreamin Demon needs to dispatch a reporter there immediately!
But seriously-wouldn’t that be amazing if we could? They could get the real scoop and in between ongoing cases they could visit prisons and make sure justice is being dealt out appropriately.

Wait what does an anti psychotic do to treat pain?

I will admit I think its bullshit that they stopped prescribing pain meds to animals after surgery or painful injuries. My nephew broke 2 bones in his arm and he got nothing. Couldnt they give a tramadol and broken it in fourths? Not that I think its smart to give Oxycodone (isnt that Percocet?) and Seroquel because thats just dumb.
