A47-year-old woman was arrested Friday and charged with sexual exploitation of children. She was also charged with murder in a separate case -- the shooting death of a teenager that happened in March 2022, according to court documents

Photos of underage females and males engaged in sexual activities were found on the computer tablet of Elizabeth Ortiz-Chavez during execution of a search warrant at her residence on June 15, 2022, according to court documents. After a photo depicting child sexual abuse was seen on the tablet, the contents of the tablet were copied and another warrant was issued on March 2 to examine all its contents, the court documents said. That search found 23 pictures of child sexual abuse.

Ortiz-Chavez's son was arrested in 2022 in connection with Ruiz's shooting death. Ortiz-Chavez was arrested in June 2023 when police alleged that she had arranged a meeting between Ruiz and her son "knowing what would happen," court records show.
