BARRE — Vermont State Police say two more people are being charged with stealing the ashes of a Williamstown woman who died last year from a cemetery. Police say 22-year-old Rosalee Marie Moodie of North Wolcott and 32-year-old Melissa Sue Estivill of Barre were ordered into court next month to answer a charge of unauthorized removal of human remains. Last month 30-year-old Gene Sargeant, of North Waterboro, Maine, and 30-year-old David Mares, Jr., of Barre, were charged with the same offense. All four suspects are due in court in Chelsea June 1. Police began the investigation last September after the father of Tori Lynn Clark told police his daughter’s grave in the town of Washington had been desecrated and her ashes removed. Police say Clark’s father was contacted by an anonymous source.
