An Oklahoma City man admitted Wednesday to sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl and murdering their newborn son.
Ron Deshawn Turner, 29, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and dozens of sex crimes. He was sentenced to life in prison plus 20 additional years.
Oklahoma County prosecutors alleged Turner killed the 18-day-old victim, Prince Williams, in August to stop rumors he was the boy's father.
DNA testing confirmed Turner was the victim's father, prosecutors said. Turner admitted to smothering the victim with a pillow.
Turner, in shackles and dressed in an orange jail uniform, held a Bible while Special Judge Kevin McCray sentenced him in accordance with a plea agreement.
The victim was found Aug. 23 inside an Oklahoma City house, police reported. In December, the 13-year-old girl told police that Turner smothered her child in front of her.
Turner was interviewed and admitted to taking a pillow and holding it over the boy's face for 10 seconds, according to the affidavit. Turner told police the girl had tried to suffocate the boy before he did but she was unable to.
Turner told the girl "this would stop the family rumors in reference to him being (the boy's) biological father," according to a court affidavit.
