A community is coming together and showing support for nine children in Middletown who lost their mother to an overdose.

The Middletown Division of Police posted to Facebook reaching out for donations for the children.

"The kids, all 9 of them, have just lost their mother to a tragic death and right before Christmas on top of that. The mother was with her supposed 'friends' who then in turn left her to die in front of her 9 kids. Not only did they leave her to die, but they stole her money as well and told the kids they were leaving to go buy a 2-liter of soda. We were able to get pretty good descriptors of these two men so take note. They were two white males and were possibly a father/son team. The father had gray hair and gray facial hair with a red and black coat on. The son had on a brown jacket and was of thin build.

It has disturbed us so much that it's time for us to make a difference. Their father is a hard worker, he has tried to make ends meet but it's a vicious cycle," the post reads.

There was an overwhelming show of support Thursday for nine children in Middletown who lost their mother to an overdose.

Two men have been arrested in the case. Authorities say they were with the woman when she died.

Keith Boyer and Jim Boyer have been charged through Middletown court with tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse, petty theft, and nine counts of child endangering.

Middletown police posted a message to Facebook on Thursday that read, in part:

Heartbroken cops have been overwhelmed with donated Christmas gifts after putting out the call to help nine children whose mother died of a suspected heroin overdose.

Jimeta Sanders, 31, died on Wednesday in Middletown, Ohio while her husband was at work, and cops responding at the scene found her nine children, ages one to 14, alone with the body.

The girls are 14, five, three and one. The boys are 13, 11, 10, six and two.

Within hours, hundreds of donations of clothing, toys, bikes had poured into the police station, until cops finally had to halt the drive to take time to sort through the gifts.

The detectives bought a Christmas tree for the family and drove a van with food and clothing.

'This is happening because of her,' Jimeta's husband Andre Sanders told Fox45.

'She was that type of person that she could touch people, that's why the universe is paying it forward to us.'

He said that she was in rehab for heroin addiction before she relapsed.

Two men arrested in connection to the overdose death of a Middletown mother of nine will each spend six months in prison.

They each pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice, petty theft and two counts of child endangerment – all misdemeanors. Both were sentenced Friday to six months in jail, with credit for 40 days served.

Authorities said she had been shooting heroin with people they described as her "supposed 'friends,' who then in turn left her to die in front of her nine kids."
