Four years after his indictment, a Blount County man has been found guilty of the sexual abuse of a toddler.
Earlier this week, 54-year-old Jeffery Allen Gable was convicted of one count of sexual torture and one count of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12, according to the Blount County District Attorney's Office.

Gable was indicted in June of 2020 after law enforcement in Blount County received a report that he had used a sex toy to abuse a 3-year-old girl.
During an interview at the Blount County Children's Center, the girl told authorities that Gable hurt her with a "purple sucky thing" that he kept in his closet. A search of his home turned up a "purple phallic sex toy" soon after the interview.

Haley Jenkins, a former Blount County DHR employee, testified that during an interview with Gable about the allegations, he told her that he would never commit such an act because “he was unable to perform.” He told Jenkins that the child had recently been caught playing with the sex toy in his room.

Another witness addressed this claim, testifying that on June 19, 2020, she passed Gable in the hallway of his home as he exited his bedroom. When she looked inside, she saw the girl lying on Gable's bed with "her pants around her ankles with the sex toy in her hand."

Blount County man will spend the rest of his life in prison for the sexual torture and abuse of a 3-year-old girl. The sentence was handed down Wednesday, in a case that started 4 years ago.

A judge sentenced 54-year-old Jeffery Gable to life without the possibility of parole plus 20 years in prison for sexual torture and sexual abuse.
"She (the child) described events that (her) pawpaw had done to her," said District Attorney Pamela Casey who described the case as particularly disturbing.

Authorities say it happened at Gable’s Blountsville home in 2020. They say when they searched the home, they found items the toddler said he used to hurt her.
