Joseph Antonsen, 38, of Pima County, Arizona

"Pima County Sheriff's Department arrested the father of a 9-year-old boy who was found dead and decomposing after prolonged child abuse, according to deputies in a news release."

" [Joseph] Antonsen told police his son became ill on Friday, eventually "shuttering and going limp," which prompted the father to take the boy to get medical attention. Antonsen reportedly went to turn on his vehicle and returned inside to find his son not breathing and without a pulse, according to court documents.

Antonsen told police he then left the house for an unknown location despite that he knew he "should have called somebody."

"The father returned on Sunday and was arrested by police following a medical call to the home. Deputy Keith Bee declined to provide further information on who called for the medical assistance, citing an active investigation.

Deputies who entered the house found piles of trash around the body of the boy, along with piles of diapers, beer cans, rotten food, and one-gallon bottles filled apparently with urine, the court documents stated.

Deputies who found the body on a couch in the home said the boy, "was in the process of decomposition."

"...the home had no running water or working toilets"

While the boy has not been identified by the sheriff’s department, Pima County records of the recently deceased show the name Theodore Antonsen, and say that he was 4’5″ and weighed 41 pounds.

Local CBS affiliate KOLD spoke with a neighbor who sounded shaken up that the “really friendly” boy who played with her daughter had died in this way.

“His son was really cute. He was a really friendly kid,” the woman said during an interview. “He was very polite. He was a lot friendlier than his dad.”
The news of the boy’s death came as a shock to the neighbor, who said she had to break the news to her daughter.

“She would always be so excited to run across and go hang out with them,” the woman said of her daughter. “It would take me like hours to be like, ‘You guys need to come inside now.’”

A different neighbor told 13 News she thought the home was abandoned because she never saw anyone coming or going.

Joseph Antonsen is considered a flight risk since he is dependent on his parents who live in Panama.

What would we do without you swooping in to erroneously imply this is a evidence of the moral inferiority of anyone not American?

Joseph Antonsen is considered a flight risk since he is dependent on his parents who live in Panama.

30,000 expatriate American retirees live in Panama.
Antonsen is a Danish/Norwegian surname.
They are not Panamanian

No, no it doesn't. The Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner has released no such informarion.

But thanks for adding misleading and false info to the narrative.
I'm going to have to do a thread that gives the tell-tale signs of Russian election interference because clearly people aren't recognizing it here, ffs.

Joseph Antonsen, the Picture Rocks man whose son was found decomposing in the family mobile home, was sentenced to 15 years in prison Friday. Antonsen also received 20 years of probation following his release.
Antonsen had already pleaded guilty to two counts of child abuse, including one count of child abuse where the abuser knew he might cause severe injury or death.
Investigators say when the 9-year-old boy’s heart stopped in July of last year, Joseph Gregory Antonsen did not call for help. Instead, he left. Radio calls help tell the story of what happened when he allegedly came back to the house two days later.

When deputies went into the house in Picture Rocks, they say they found a house full of filth, and the decomposing body of a nine year old boy.
Investigators said Antonsen told them the child had been ill, and shaking. Then the child stopped breathing. They say Antonsen told them he looked for a pulse and found none. He said he knew he should have called someone but he didn’t. Charging documents say Antonsen simply left. Two days went by.

He came back, and then he called for help.
The voice on the radio call says, “The caller is the father. He’s saying they have a 9-year-old male who is unconscious, not breathing they believe is beyond help. PCSO (Pima County Sheriff’s Office) is en route.”

According to the autopsy report, there were no signs of illness or injury that would have contributed to the boy’s death. There were signs of decomposition and insect activity on the body.

The document also indicates there was no evidence of medical intervention. The home had no AC, and the inside temperature was between 103 and 113 degrees.
The 9-year-old boy was found dead sitting up on a couch in the home. Investigators said the boy had been dead “for an extended period of time.”
