A woman in a Wyoming town shot her four young daughters in the head, killing or fatally wounding three of them before shooting herself, sheriff's officials said Tuesday.
The 32-year-old woman and surviving 7-year-old daughter were hospitalized after the shootings Monday afternoon in Byron.

Their conditions weren't immediately available Tuesday, the Big Horn County Sheriff's office said in a statement.

The woman, whose name wasn't released, had called 911 to report she had shot and killed her four daughters and planned to kill herself, according to the statement.
A dispatcher tried to keep her on the line but was disconnected.

Police arrived at the home within minutes to find the woman alive in a bedroom with a gunshot wound to the head, and two of the girls, ages 2 and 9, dead in their crib and bed.

A third daughter, also age 2, died soon after police arrived.

I cannot imagine shooting my child, then myself.

Even in my hardest and darkest moments, hurting him was never an option. My kid is the reason I found to live. Even when I didn't want to, Even when I didn't think I could. But hurting or killing him was never a thought. In fact, his hurting cuz of my absence is what kept me here.

No fucking excuse to annihilate your kids before ending your own life. None. Selfish and gross.

Three young girls are dead and another is in serious condition after their mother shot them in the head and then turned the gun on herself in Wyoming, authorities said.

The mom called 911 on Monday afternoon to report that her four daughters had been shot in her home in Big Horn County, the local sheriff’s office said.

The woman — whom local media later identified as 32-year-old Tranyelle Harshman — told the dispatcher where the girls were located in the house before abruptly cutting the call.

When officers arrived, they discovered the girls with gunshot wounds to their heads, along with their mother, who had apparently turned the gun on herself.

Only one of the girls, a 7-year-old, survived. Her three sisters — a 9-year-old and two 2-year-olds born less than a year apart — were killed, according to MTN News.

Harshman was found alive but later succumbed to her wounds.

Police are still investigating the circumstances behind the tragedy, but Harshman’s husband Cliff Harshman told Cowboy State Daily that his wife had been receiving treatment for severe mental health issues, including PTSD and postpartum depression.

Two baby daddys and mental health issues
Two fathers are grieving after a woman shot her four daughters in Byron, Wyoming, on Monday, February 10, 2025, killing three of them and leaving one fighting for her life.
Family members and friends told MTN News that she had struggled with mental health problems, including post-partum depression, and had been in therapy.
I found none of this surprising.

On Monday, February 10th, the world stopped turning for Quinn and Katelynn Blackmer as they received the news that a horrific tragedy had happened to their sweet girls.

They were currently residing with their mother in Wyoming, who attempted to take all 4 of her children’s lives. Brailey (9) and Olivia (7) and their two younger half-sisters suffered deadly gunshot wounds. This news shattered them. Their oldest daughter, Brailey (9), passed away on scene. Olivia (7) was life-flighted to Billings, Montana, then later life-flighted to SLC for the closest and best neurology care team.

Olivia has suffered severe traumatic brain injury and is fighting hard for her life! She is in critical condition; the next few days will be crucial for her outcome.

All prayers and whatever higher faith or power you believe in are appreciated for the family at this time. If she does pull through this, she and the family have a very long road ahead of them, a lot of unknown right now. This loss and hurt is unimaginable. Please rally around Quinn and Katelynn as they prepare to bury one daughter and beg and pray that the other survives this horrible tragic event.

Quinn and Katelynn are a young family. They have a 1-year-old boy, brother to Olivia and Brailey, and are all going to have to learn how to endure this tragedy together. They are in need of financial support to take time off work, cope with their loss, prepare a funeral, and cover medical costs for their daughter. No family should ever have to endure the news they received Monday afternoon.

As a community, we all come together and lean on each other in these hard times. Brailey and Olivia know how much they are loved by anyone who knows them! They were and are precious souls with the biggest hearts!

Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps! Encouraging words, love, support, and any prayers are all welcomed and appreciated. Please allow this family time and space as they grieve and trudge through the next few days to come.

We know Brailey is watching over her baby sister from the other side, helping her fight for her life!

I have absolutely no sympathy for this woman she could have let the older girls live with their biological father and his wife.

Police are still investigating the circumstances behind the tragedy, but Harshman’s husband, Cliff Harshman, told Cowboy State Daily that his wife had been receiving treatment for severe mental health issues, including PTSD and postpartum depression.
“My wife is not a monster,” he told the outlet, weeping. “Most people don’t understand how that affects the brain. It’s a chemical imbalance … And it can be exacerbated by trying to fix it with medication.”
Cliff Harshman is the biological father of the two youngest victims and had been helping raise the older two — one of whom is clinging to life in a Salt Lake City hospital.

Friends launched a Kickstarter fundraiser to help pay her medical bills.

“Cliff Harshman, a devoted husband and father of four beautiful daughters, has suffered an unimaginable loss,” the fundraiser’s page reads.

It is disgusting to post photos of the victims when the family has publicly asked that photos of them not be shared. It serves no purpose to do so here and prolong the devastation this family has to endure. The kids' faces are blurred out everywhere but here.

Family gives heartbreaking update on sole survivor of Wyoming mom’s murder-suicide rampage that left 3 sisters dead

The family of a 7-year-old girl who was the sole survivor after her mother murdered her three sisters before taking her own life has given a heartbreaking update on her condition and said she is “heavily sedated.”

Olivia Blackmer was shot in the head by her mother Tranyelle Harshman, 32, at the family home in Byron, Wyoming on February 10, in a murder-suicide rampage that also left her older sister Brailey, 9, and 2-year-old twin step-sisters Brooke and Jordan dead.

“They have her heavily sedated. Essentially, the bullet went through from one side of her head to the other,” her uncle Korbin Goulding told KSL/KULR.

“They are trying to put their best foot forward in a terrible situation. They are just devastated and just are asking for prayers and love for this little girl,” Beatty told the TV station.

So, you and gofundme are both disgusting. Hope that makes you feel better.

Not sure why you continue on this site when SC is pretty much the only one who posts new stories and she disgusts you. I don’t agree with a lot of her political slants but that’s not what I come on here to read.

@GoneWest I've been on this forum for 18yrs, and with @Morbid at the previous iteration for much longer than that. I'm not fucking going anywhere. I've endured way worse that SC and they've come and gone. No one member is going to intimidate me or cause me to move on other than if Chris himself tells me to fuck off or bans me. I've seen my fair share of many long-term members leave in protest, but that's not how I operate. I will always try to support the fight for what is right, polite, and be a voice for those that are not here to speak for themselves.

They are not the only one posting new stories. I post and we always seem to attract some new blood from time to time and I always support an engage anyone who wants to come here and participate. There are way too many people here I care about and wish to discuss things with than there are that I don't.

Olivia died on Saturday, fighting hard "up til the last minute," a GoFundMe states.

"Her body and her brain had been through too much, medication helped but we reached a point where medical options were exhausted and her body only continued to get worse," the GoFundMe said. "She kept fighting through it all though until her heart stopped. We are grateful she hung on as long as she did so we could get some valuable time with our sweet baby girl the last five days."
Olivia and her sibling, one of the two killed Monday, are the daughters of Quinn Blackmer. Their step-siblings killed in the incident are the daughters of Wyoming resident Cliff Harshman.
On Thursday, Olivia's father and stepmother, Quinn and Katelynn Blackmer, released the following statement via the Primary Children's Hospital media relations manager:
"We want to thank everyone for all their kind thoughts, requests for updates on Olivia, support, donations and prayers for our family during this time. What we are going through is unimaginable and indescribable. It has been excruciatingly challenging trying to manage the emotions of grieving the loss of one child, while being there to support the other child who’s fighting for her life.

We kindly ask for some space and privacy for us, our extended family and our friend circle, to navigate this difficult time."

Poor kid. I had high hopes that since she had "survived" she might make it. They thankfully never went into any great detail but getting shot in the head is usually hard to come back from. RIP.

@Turd Fergusen

I know how full of crap you are -

I thought it was wrong to post images of victims
