CNN has discovered a new appreciation for walls.

The CNN Center in Atlanta added some imposing metal fencing after their building was attacked during violent protests after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis last month.

Photos of the new barriers were posted to Twitter Friday by Townhall reporter Julio Rosas.

On May 29, a storm of protesters descended on the building, smashing windows and cheering. They were given a boost a day later by rapper Killer Mike, who called out the network in a press conference.

“I’d like to say to CNN right now, karma’s a mother. Stop feeding fear and anger every day. Stop making people feel so fearful, give them hope,” he said.
President Trump also couldn’t resist a bit of mockery at the time, retweeting a post noting that “In an ironic twist of fate, CNN HQ is being attacked by the very riots they promoted as noble & just.”

It’s unclear exactly when the CNN barrier was erected, a spokesman for the network did not immediately respond to request for comment from The Post.

To people angry over the content of the news... understand the difference between news and editorial. Know as well bad things happen and it is the job of news to report it accurately.

Am not going to waste my breath on who the poor irresponsible media outlets are. I will say this though. No other outlets have been vandalized and property destroyed like CNN. That is frankly troubling. Don't like it, don't watch.

Semantically-loaded language is a problem too. Imagine, if you will, a man walking down the sidewalk with his cane in hand when he is set upon by a dog. He uses the cane as a club to dissuade the beast, killing it in the process. There are at least three ways to write the headline:
"Pedestrian Defends Self Against Dog Attack"
"Elderly Man Beats Vicious Dog"
and
"Plutocrat Bludgeons Beloved Family Pet To Death"

Three headlines describing the same event. Only one of them describes, accurately and honestly, what happened. The other two carry significant semantic loading.

I used to watch the news daily, but I stopped a few years back. It is no longer reporting just the facts, it is now the facts with a twist, and the twist is to make the news item as terrifying and negative as possible, and/or to put a political spin on it. It just became too much.

I still read the news daily. Print news is also tainted, but not as badly. I wish there was a way to get old fashioned news, where they literally just told you the facts, and you figured out the rest for yourself. I miss the old news.

When I was reporting it was a different world.
There is a carelessness to news presenting now.
A rush to be first and accuracy be damned.

Gathering facts have become quite lazy.
I am glad to be out of it.
It became every bit as sloppy as I said it would.
Blondes, boobs and banality are the winning combination in place of insightful fact finding.

For getting the truth of a story is multiple sourcing and presume everyone has a vested interest in misrepresenting it and why.
Only then can you get close to the truth.
