The Graves County Sheriff’s Office said back in late 2023, it received information about a suspect who was allegedly sexually abusing children and selling videos and photos of the acts online.
It was also reported that this suspect and another were having sex with animals and filming it.
During an investigation, police seized electronic devices and they found images of "children under the age of 12 made to perform sexual acts," along with photo and video evidence of sex crimes against animals.
Two suspects were identified in this investigation: 47-year-old Neela M. Wilford of Mayfield, Ky. and 32-year-old Christopher D. Carruthers of Meadow Lands, Pennsylvania.
Investigators learned the two suspects met online and Carruthers traveled to Graves County to commit the sexually abusive acts.
In 2024, both suspects were arrested by Graves Co. Sheriff’s deputies then each indicted by a grand jury.
The sheriff’s office said on April 15 of this year, Carruthers, who had previously pleaded guilty, was sentenced in Graves Co. Circuit Court to 12 years in prison for six counts of sex crimes against animals and two counts of possession of matter portraying a minor (under the age of 12) in a sexual performance.
