TikTok star Marrissa “Digitalprincxss” Cloutier is facing child neglect charges after neighbors found her 5-year-old son roaming outside alone Tuesday night with Cloutier nowhere to be found, according to an arrest report from the Fort Myers Police Department.
Cloutier, 24, who has 2.2 million followers on TikTok and is a well-known Twitch streamer, was arrested and charged with neglect of a child without great bodily harm after neighbors reported seeing a small child outside alone crying around 10:20 p.m.
It was later determined she left her son alone for over an hour in an environment where he was able to get outside to an area with bodies of water, wildlife and vehicle traffic, the report said.
Officers found no one else inside the child’s home but found Cloutier’s cell phone number on paperwork and called her. She advised she was six minutes away from the residence, the report stated.
Cloutier, who said she just moved to Fort Myers from Colorado due to being stalked and harassed by fans, told officers she made a quick trip to 7-Eleven on Colonial Boulevard, 15 minutes away, to purchase laundry detergent after putting her son down to sleep.
Officers found inconsistencies in Cloutier’s account due to her returning to the residence in a black mini dress with full make-up on, “attire not conducive to a late-night run to a convenience store”, the report said. The laundry detergent container was also half empty and she couldn’t produce a receipt for the purchase.
After being read her Miranda rights, Cloutier confessed she left her son to meet a friend 11 miles away, acknowledging she “made a mistake” and it was “selfish,” the report said. Her home had no cameras that would have allowed her to check on her son while she was away, she said.
Cloutier also advised her mother, aunt and cousin live in the area. Her mother arrived on scene to take custody of Cloutier's son.
In a now-deleted TikTok video recorded a few days after the arrest, Cloutier said a lot of things regarding the incident are being posted online that are “very out of context.”
“Please do not believe everything you read on the internet,” she said in the video that is still being shared by others on social media.
