A Palm Coast woman accused of allowing her newborn baby girl to drown in a toilet and then burying her body in the backyard will be held without bond, a judge ruled on Saturday, March 7.
Demegillo told Flagler County Sheriff's Office detectives that she unexpectedly gave birth Thursday, March 5, at home and watched her newborn drown in the toilet, according to the sheriff's office.

She said she then placed the baby's body in a duffle bag in her closet. She left the house and returned later that day and buried the baby girl in the backyard of her home on Florida Park Drive.

She sent a message on social media to a friend who contacted the sheriff's office for a welfare check around 4 a.m. when deputies responded to her home.
Deputies found the body of a baby girl weighing 3 pounds and 6 ounces and 18.7 inches long, the sheriff's office stated. The baby was wrapped in a towel and buried beneath 4 to 5 inches of dirt.

this sounds like another one that will say she didn't know she was pregnant.. how can any one say they didn't know they were pregnant.. for sure they didn't have their mens for the whole of the pregnancy.. also babies do move, plus increase in breast size and around the waistline at the very least etc...

It is possible that she just ignored the signs but once the baby came she knew what she was doing and for that she honesty deserves the death penalty.

She could have left the baby at a fire station, police station or the hospital so I have no sympathy for her.

A Florida college student accused of killing her newborn baby last month kept pictures of Casey Anthony on her phone, according to reports and authorities.
Anne Mae Demegillo, 20, was indicted by a grand jury on Monday on charges of first-degree premeditated murder, aggravated child abuse, and failure to report death of a person with intent to conceal evidence in connection with the death of her newborn on March 5, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

Demegillo was initially arrested on manslaughter charges the following day after police conducted a welfare check and discovered a shallow grave where she had buried her newborn daughter in the backyard of her Palm Beach home, police said.
She had allegedly texted a friend confessing that she had given birth to a baby in the toilet of her residence, watched her die, and buried her. That friend later alerted police, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by The Post.

The college student admitted to police that she had delivered the baby into the toilet and watched as her daughter cried and squirmed until she was dead, Flagler County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Barile said during a press conference after her initial arrest.
After she believed the newborn was no longer alive, she removed the baby’s body using a towel and placed her in a duffel bag in a closet in her home. She then headed out to class and performed at a theater, according to the affidavit.

Demegillo returned home that evening and buried the 3 pounds and 6ounces and 18.7 inches long newborn beneath three to five inches of dirt, police added.

She led deputies to the gravesite during the welfare check, where police noticed a “small human leg” in the soil.

I know the Grandpa of a baby that never moved once in utero. Her Mom was in the Army at the time, doing full PT. Baby Sophia had hydrocephalus, they said at the time (late 1990's) that that is why she didn't move. Once she was born and they put the shunt in to drain the fluid she was a normal squirmy baby. Aside from regular shunt care, she lives a completely normal life today. I think she's got a baby of her own now. Legit her Mom didn't know until she was in labor that she was pregnant! ;)

She knew she was pregnant.

She knew she was pregnant.
She didn't. Neither did the Army docs. She'd had at least two physicals during this time. She was seen because she didn't understand why her period stopped for four+/- months. She lost about 35 pounds and they chalked it up to that. She legit did not know. Her Dad, managed to make it with 20 minutes to spare for the delivery, he saw the genuine shock she was in, and the fierce Mama Bear take over when the hydrocephalus was diagnosed.

I found this that explains how it can happen in the military "—gave birth without knowing they were pregnant until labor began. These rare "cryptic pregnancies" often involve high-stress environments, intense physical training, and the absence of typical symptoms, leading to unexpected births in military medical facilities." and if you add to that a baby that doesn't move because moving = pain, and you get a Baby Sophia. :joyful:

The way they explained it to Grandpa, was that her case of hydrocephalus was extreme enough so that she didn't move, because moving caused her pain. Not so extreme that she is badly affected by it, but in utero, extreme enough that she didn't move. If she experienced anything like what I went through after a spinal tap giving me a spinal headache, I don't blame her for staying still for nine months! :blackeye:
