"Located in the South River Forest and bordering the eastern boundary of the site chosen for Cop City, the park remains closed off and under constant guard by police following a multi-jurisdictional police raid on the South River Music Festival during a Week of Action in March 2023.

The center is expected to cost $90 million and take up over 85 acres, with the "remaining portion of the 265-acres property as greenspace," according to the center's website, potentially impacting a forest in Atlanta.

The center will include an "auditorium for police/fire and public use," a "mock city for burn building training and urban police training," an "Emergency Vehicle Operator Course for emergency vehicle driver training," a K-9 unit kennel and training, according to the center's website. The first phase of the training center is scheduled to open in late 2023.

"Protests escalated when a protester, Manuel Esteban Paez Terán, was shot and killed by police as they raided the campground occupied by demonstrators in January. Officials say the protester fired the first shot at a state trooper, and the officer responded with the fatal shot.

Dozens of people have been arrested in Atlanta after rocks, fireworks and Molotov cocktails were thrown at officers near the site of a public safety training center set to be constructed in the city. The center has garnered national attention after prompting protests throughout the city as well as in states like Massachusetts, New York and Pennsylvania."

'Cop City' in Atlanta

Here in Tucson

"Approximately 150 organizers and activists opposed to the construction of the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center, more commonly known as Cop City, kicked off a four-day summit in Tucson Friday afternoon.

The summit marks the first major mobilization of the Stop Cop City movement to take place outside of Atlanta. "

"A nationwide movement protesting a police training center in Georgia and a pipeline in the Appalachian Mountains brought its message and its actions to Tucson. Tucson Police arrested three protestors after two downtown bank branches were vandalized Sunday night.

By Monday, the windows were boarded up and the spray paint removed, but protestors say they will continue to take action against corporations they consider to be supporting police or projects that threaten the environment.

Shattered glass, broken windows, and words spray painted on buildings carried a message Sunday night in downtown Tucson, with “no cop city” written to reference a police training center in Atlanta, and a name, Tortuguita, who was killed in a protest last year to protect the Weelaunee Forest near Atlanta."

What does being criminal assholes in Tucson have to do with the Justice Center in Atlanta. I'm sure that the powers that be are saying, Well since they don't like it in Tucson we gotta take it down. That's ridiculous. Kinda like Israel cares that Hamas supporters shut down a highway in California.

The protesters are basically providing the number one reason why something like Justice Center needs to exist.

I agree with every word.

Their camp was on my street.
Sirens all weekend, they shut down the downtown area Saturday night, a lot of ruckus.
They're confident in a way that the organized protest groups of recent years weren't. Deliberate violence, arrogance. They're not asking for things it's more of a an attitude if taking what they want, going where they want.

Here's some of their Tucson literature...

A bunch of retards doing what they do best, being retarded. It's like when a union goes on strike somewhere in the east coast so the branch in Phoenix is going on strike to show support or that out of state union showing up here during the strike to create a picket line to ruin your workday.
