Jill Biden praised President Joe Biden for “answering every question” in Thursday’s presidential debate despite his performance being widely described as a “disaster” for the Democrats.

Before addressing the crowd directly, the First Lady helped Mr Biden on stage at a “Let’s Go Joe” event in Atlanta.

“Joe, you did such a good job. You answered every question, you knew all the facts. Let me ask the crowd - what did Trump do? Lie,” Mrs Biden said.
The audience, who had watched Mr Biden’s performance, cheered loudly and chanted that Donald Trump was a “liar”.

It came after Mr Biden made a post-debate trip to Waffle House, where he said: “I think it went well.”

I watched the clip, and is it just me or when Biden starts talking about some John Wayne movie and the Apaches-his wife, who is right behind him smiling up until this point-looks to her side, takes a couple of steps and her expression is no longer smiling-she looks like "uh oh-whats he going on about now-stick to the script"-she looks concerned and annoyed perhaps? Golden (D-Me.) wrote in an op-ed for the Bangor Daily News that the 81-year-old president’s “poor performance” in his debate last week against Donald Trump “was not a surprise” but demurred about whether Biden should actually step aside and allow another Democrat to top the ticket, dismissing it as “post-debate hand-wringing.”

“Biden’s poor performance in the debate was not a surprise,” Golden wrote. “It also didn’t rattle me as it has others, because the outcome of this election has been clear to me for months: While I don’t plan to vote for him, Donald Trump is going to win. And I’m OK with that.”

According to a CNN/SSRS poll released on Tuesday, 75% of registered voters after the disastrous debate say the Democratic Party has a better shot at keeping the White House if Biden steps down.

Notably, 56% of Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents who were surveyed agreed with that.
