Suzanne Shelton, 39, is facing charges after several children were found in an unlivable hotel room in Augusta, according to Richmond County deputies.
According to the incident report, deputies responded to the Super 8, 3026 Washington Road, to meet with a social worker with the Department of Human Services (DFACS).
The worker told deputies he attempted to make contact with Shelton, who wouldn’t come to the door.

“When the door opened, you could see the room being dirty with flies and trash all over the room. Also nothing on the beds and nowhere for you to walk around the room,” deputies said in the incident report.
Deputies say the children were also seen with dirt on their skin and clothes, according to the report.
