According to police around 5:30 p.m., a person left a vehicle running and unattended at a gas station.

The juvenile girl was driving away when the owner of the vehicle fired shots at the car, striking the girl, police said.

The girl was taken via flight for life to a local children’s hospital and was in critical condition Friday night.

An investigation is underway and someone is in custody.

She may be a minor, but I'm not about to start sympathizing with her and her life choices that led to her getting shot. If you do transgressive things, you implicitly welcome the consequences of such.

The car owner, however, was also not that bright in leaving the car unattended and running, too, in Kenosha.

OF NOTE: Kenosha is the same place where Kyle Rittenhouse killed two people and injured another during the unrest in response to a crippling police shooting of a black man.

I don't mind the fact that she was shot for doing this, but, it was no doubt illegal for the car owner to shoot someone for no reason other than this, and the shooter will be in trouble for it.

If bullets are going to fly, why not let them hit shitty thieving bastards instead of like, you know, kids sleeping in their beds and shit.

edit: and on the other hand, if the car owner's kid were in the back seat and a clean shot were possible, maybe the shooter would not be fucked by the police for that.

They don't say anything about the shooter being licensed to carry. Not everybody who shoots at a criminal is a law-abiding citizen. Criminals shoot at each other all the time.
Sure.

I prefer to judge by the situation tho, not some county's judgment of what constitutes the apparently high status of 'law-abiding'.

and 13 year old needs fixed. in her HEAD. Cause that is no way to start a life.

Wisconsin is an open carry state, so anyone 18 or older can visibly carry weapons under state law. But a person cannot have any other prohibitions, such as being a felon or convicted of domestic abuse, to carry a weapon legally.
According to self-defense laws in Wisconsin, a person can only use deadly force in situations where they feel there is an imminent threat of death.
In this instance, Grieve said, unless there was someone else in danger (like a passenger in the car) when it was operated without the owner's consent, castle doctrine would not apply.
He noted that there are often critical pieces of information missing or unknown to the public in the early stages of an investigation in these types of cases.

"In order to successfully raise self defense, we need more facts."

If she lives, hopefully she will have learned a valuable lesson. Yes she does need help, so does her parents/guardians. Nothing will get better until people teach their children to accept responsibility for their actions.
She wouldn’t of gotten shot if she wasn’t doing something wrong. Not everyone is going to be gentle handed.

Not a whole lot of info
