A jury convicted a former elementary school teacher accused of abuse against his 4th grade students in Lafayette.

Antonio Elias Rodriguez was convicted this week of two counts of child abuse with no injury stemming from allegations from students at his former job at Pioneer Elementary School in the Boulder Valley School District.

Students told police Rodriguez pushed their faces into desks and slapped them. Students also said Rodriguez once threw away their lunches and would not allow them to use the restroom during class.

The school put Rodriguez on leave after the allegations arose in April of 2017, and he resigned the following month.

Rodriguez is scheduled to be sentenced next month.

Kids must have been awful. He didn't do all that out of the blue.
He should become a security guard, he's burned out and finished as a teacher.
ETA :sarcasm:

Why so he can bodyslam a kid out of there desk for being mouthy? How about he never have the chance to work with children again lest he seriously hurts someone.
My son is in 3rd grade and I would happily tap dance on the heads of anyone pulling this shit.

It was sarcasm. Obviously he no longer has the self control to be a teacher.
I added the emoji so there is no confusion.
However I'm still sure the kids were behaving awful. That wasn't sarcasm.
