Police say a woman tied a six-year-old to a chair, with belts, and allegedly abused the girl for six months.
A Stafford County Grand Jury has indicted 32-year-old Erin Warren on multiple counts of assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Rochester police say the investigation into the alleged abuse began last July.
Police say that same day, New Hampshire Child Protective Services took custody of the alleged victim.
A few months later, police arrested Erin Warren for failing to seek medical attention for an open wound on the little girl's head, which resulted in a severe infection and scarring.
"She was physically arrested at the end of last year on the endangering the welfare of a child, specifically for the head wound," Thomas said.
Police won't say what the relationship is between Erin Warren and the little girl, but the other charges she now faces are even more disturbing.
According to court papers, Warren knowingly injured the child by binding her legs and arms for prolonged periods of time, causing abrasions and scarring.
Warren is also accused of tying the girl up and forcing her to eat vomit.
"Allegedly, she would buckle the child to a chair with a belt, her legs and her arms,” Thomas said. “A couple of times the child had vomited, and she would make the child eat the vomit."
Police say the 6-year-old child is now in foster care.
