Police in Warren say an eight-day-old baby was severely injured in an assault, and now the mother's boyfriend is behind bars.

Andrew Jacobs, 27, has been booked on charges of felonious assault.

According to police, when they arrived at the scene for the report of the assault, the mother and baby girl had left for the hospital.

According to police and family members, the baby sustained a broken clavicle, severe head trauma, and a brain bleed and is being treated at Akron Children's Hospital.
