Sentenced: Florida Man Gets Life For Sexually Abusing Vietnamese Boys While Posing As English Teacher

A St. Petersburg man will spend life behind bars after he was sentenced Monday for sexually abusing minors in Vietnam after posing as an English teacher online, officials said.

52-year-old Christopher Edwin Day pleaded guilty in February 2020 after an investigation uncovered he made at least two trips from Florida to Vietnam after talking with boys online to engage in sex acts, according to the United States Department of Justice.

Court documents show Day made the trips between 2015 and 2016.

Investigators said Day lured some of the minors with promises of gifts and money while others were introduced to him as their English teacher.
