Sentenced: Dad Takes Kids For Kebabs After Gouging Out Mom's Eye & Flushing It Down The Loo

Devastated relatives of a young mother mutilated and murdered by an Islamic State sympathiser have revealed how her three children reacted to her death.

The children, now aged four, six and eight, watched as their father gouged out their mother's right eye and flushed it down the toilet of their Melbourne home.

They witnessed him cut off two of her fingers and slash the 27-year-old's face and genitals with a meat cleaver, and he took them with him to dump her body.

The oldest boy told a family member his father took them out for kebabs after throwing the victim's body out of his car at the nearby Dallas Tennis Club.

The same boy later told the relative he though he mother was 'going to be okay,' and said 'she's going to come back', News.com.au reported.

Now the ISIS-obsessed man has been sentenced to life behind bars, the victim's brother and sister have spoken out about their first impressions of the killer.

'He was really weird ... he told us, "Google me",' the woman's sister said of her first meeting with their future brother-in-law, which came after she visited from Lebanon.

'We looked him up and the pictures were scary — they showed him with police. We didn't stay long.'

The victim's brother said he was warned about the 26-year-old, but wanted to give his sister's new husband the benefit of the doubt.

'I thought he was a normal person but he turned weird. When we were alone all he talked about was ISIS, how he wanted to go to Syria, how he wanted to take the family to Syria,' he said.

The children, who said their father beat them, were found with showing signs of physical abuse - bruised, bleeding and suffering from burns and dehydration.

They spent the first years of their lives in small decaying weatherboard home in the north Melbourne suburb of Broadmeadows, and never attended school.

In sentencing last Thursday, Supreme Court of Victoria Justice Lex Lasry said the killer, who spent 634 days in custody before the hearing, showed 'no remorse'.

He said he could not be satisfied the man's jihadist ideology led to the killing or the methylamphetamine smoker was in a drug-induced psychosis at the time.

'I would not have thought your conduct in murdering your very compliant wife could be classified as an act of Jihad,' Justice Lasry said.

'What I am sure of is your conduct was grotesquely violent.

'The murder of your wife was the culmination of a long history of domestic violence.'

Justice Lasry said the woman, who died of blood loss, was probably still alive when her eye was gouged out.

He said the killer may have removed her eye to make her resemble Dajjal, the Islamic equivalent of the Antichrist.

The man, who cannot be named in order to protect the children, must spend at least three decades in prison before being eligible for parole.

If we are the decent humans, we do not torture beyond incarceration. Incarceration is torture enough, and he is not likely to get paroled, being without remorse.

In the eighties and nineties, people from a mountainous, isolated area of Lebanon were migrating to Australia and other Lebanese were begging the government not to take them. They were like the Mafia in Calabria. Not religious zealots, just criminals with a history of extortion and cruelty, but never prosecuted so had no criminal records to deny them entry. I would bet that this fellow was from one of those families.
