An Oklahoma woman was jailed over the weekend after Cheetos residue on her teeth helped link her to an attempted burglary, authorities said Monday.

Cops were called to a house in Tulsa around 8 p.m. Friday for a report of a burglar breaking into the property while a woman and two children were home, according to police. The caller said the suspect used a window and went inside but left without stealing anything, the Tulsa Police Department said in a statement.

Officers investigating the scene moments later found a bag of Cheetos and a bottle of water on the floor near the open window, according to police. Investigators believe the burglar dropped the bag on the way out before fleeing the property.

Police soon found a suspect, identified as Sharon Carr, and noticed she still had some Cheetos residue stuck between her teeth, authorities said.

“A good reminder that Cheeto dust can be pretty hard to get rid of,” Tulsa police said in a Facebook post.

The homeowner also recognized Carr as the person who broke into her home and the suspect was arrested without further incident. She was charged with first-degree burglary.
