35-year-old man who, a woman told authorities, was seen in a compromising position with an 8-year-old girl.

The woman told Marion Inspector Erik Dice she walked into a bedroom and saw the girl face down on a bed with her pants down. She said Jeffrey McGinty was behind the girl and his pants were down.

The girl was taken to the The Children’s Advocacy Center. She told a counselor McGinty had been touching her private area and had shown her pornographic movies on his cellphone, according to Dice’s report.

McGinty declined to speak with Dice. He was arrested and charged with lewd or lascivious molestation and was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he remained on no bond.

An Ocala man has been charged with sexual battery after he was accused of molesting a 12-year-old girl.

In an interview with Officer Ronnie Williams, the girl alleged that Luis Jusino-Pacheco had touched her inappropriately more than once and once tried to remove her clothes but released her when she screamed. She described alleged occasions when he would perform sexual acts on himself while touching her.

Williams interviewed Jusino-Pacheco, 30, who denied touching the girl inappropriately. Jusino-Pacheco was arrested and was taken to the Marion County Jail where he was booked for sexual battery.

The Levy County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Dunnellon-area man on suspicion of molesting a child under the age of 12.

Evan Barkley, 75, was arrested last week following an interview at the south Levy County home, according to an LCSO news release.

Deputies said a report filed to the DCF Abuse Hotline launched the investigation.

Marion County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested a Marion Oaks man suspected of sexually molesting two boys, one recently and the other many years ago.

Detectives Ian Simpson and Frank Scala met with Wayne Vanderslice, 55, at his home about the accusations, according to an arrest report. Vanderslice admitted touching one of the boys numerous times when he much younger.

He said the incidents occurred when he was driving his truck around Marion Oaks. That boy has grown up and is now 28, officials said.

Vanderslice denied the more recent allegation.

On the old case, Vanderslice was arrested on two counts of sexual battery on a victim under 12 and taken to the Marion County Jail.

On the new one, he was arrested on suspicion of lewd and lascivious behavior with a victim under 12. That allegation involves a 5-year-old boy.

The boy was interviewed at The Children’s Advocacy Center last month. He said Vanderslice used his fingers to touch his butt when they would go to a dumpster, according to the arrest report.

Jeffrey McGinty, a 36-year-old Ocala man pleaded guilty Friday to molesting an 8-year-old girl and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.

Circuit Judge Gary Sanders also labeled Jeffrey McGinty a sexual predator and sentenced him, upon his release from prison, to lifelong probation as a sex offender.

McGinty, who was wearing a jail uniform, stood beside Assistant Public Defender Joshua Woodard, but declined to speak.
