A man is being held without bond in Cherokee County on multiple felony charges, including rape and aggravated assault, according to jail records.
According to the arrest warrant, Ezekiel Jackson and the victim were in an apartment when Jackson struck the woman in the face with a screwdriver, causing a facial fracture and eye injury.
Jackson, according to the warrant, forced the woman into a bedroom and repeatedly raped her on a bed and in the shower between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
According to Canton Police, the victim is a house cleaner who was in the apartment to provide a quote for cleaning work after being contacted by Jackson on a messaging app.
At some point, the victim was able to persuade Jackson to take her to the hospital under the pretense that they were in a relationship and that her injuries were the result of a fall while cleaning, police said. While at the hospital, the victim disclosed the assault to medical staff, who immediately notified law enforcement.
