Vernicka & Vatasha Gray
[QUOTE
33-year old Vatasha Gray was charged with disorderly conduct, aggravated assault, and resisting official detention while 35-year-old Vernicka Gray was charged with domestic assault and child abuse stemming from a Christmas Eve incident. Both women were picked up after police were called to a disturbance where they were assaulting firefighters.

On December 24th, 2019, Vernicka Gray was in a verbal altercation with her daughter. Vernicka threw her child to the ground and instructed her son and another minor to continue the assault. After being punched and slapped, Vernicka dumped her daughter over a fence to be attacked by two dogs. The child sustained multiple wounds to her chest and stomach from both attacks. A warrant was issued for this incident.

On April 28th, officers were dispatched to where, the Memphis Fire Department reported, individuals were assaulting firefighters. According to the affidavit, Officer Blalock was attempting to detain Vernicka Gray when Vatasha Gray punched him in his forehead. The officer returned blows and punched Vatasha in her face knocking her to the ground. Officer Blalock and Vatasha grappled but ultimately the officer took her into custody as well.

Vatasha Gray was jailed in lieu of a $3,000 bond.

Vernicka Gray was released on her own recognizance.[/QUOTE]

Police said they were told 32-year-old Vernicka Gray drove to her sister’s apartment with an injury to her lip.
After leaving the apartment in the 1500 block of Northside Drive, Gray reportedly went to her car where her boyfriend, known as “Twin Gotti” showed a gun and made her get into the car.
This all reportedly happened around 4 a.m.
Gray was later discovered at another undisclosed location, and authorities now say they don’t believe she was kidnapped.
