A truck driver spotted an abandoned puppy on a highway in Arizona with a zip tie around her neck, state officials said.

Now, the “fighter” is being adopted, according to a Nov. 2 Facebook post by a Benson-based animal shelter.

The tiny girl named Brandy was rescued by the trucker and given water while they waited for a trooper to arrive, according to an Oct. 30 Facebook post by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
After arriving at the scene, Trooper Iliana Magallenes saw Brandy had “bloodshot eyes” and a “swollen neck,” the post said.

The pup described as “friendly and happy” was given a blanket and “plenty of attention” before being sent to the Benson Animal Shelter, officials said.
She was treated for the strangulation, burns and parasites, the animal shelter said.

The animal shelter said Brandy “has no long term effects from the torture she went through.”
