Mother's Boyfriend Beat, Berated And Choked Toddler For Not Using Toilet

A toddler is recovering after he was allegedly berated and attacked by his mother’s boyfriend.

Christian Smith, 28, was allegedly with the mother and the child at a home Tuesday when the attack happened.

According to court records, the child soiled himself because he is not potty trained, which enraged Smith. Smith then allegedly used the child’s hair to drag him to the bathroom and slap him on the head.

An affidavit accused Smith of then grabbing the child by the neck and lifting him onto a child toilet, where he then allegedly berated the child for not using the toilet.

The mother told officers Smith then grabbed the child by the neck again and held it in the air until he turned red, put the child down again and berated him more.

At this point, the mother said she had began gathering her things to leave before the child was put down on the toilet again and hit his head on the wall.

Smith is accused of doing this more in the past. He is facing a charge of injury to a child.
