"Brandi Alden was at her home on Thursday night when she was shot in the arm and chest.

KFOR reports that police and EMS arrived at 10:30 pm and took Brandi to the hospital. Unfortunately, Brandi died at the hospital shortly after.

Despite her injuries she was able to describe the two men involved in the shooting. Reports also state that she had previously got into an altercation with one of them.

Police issued an arrest warrant for a 27-year-old man in connection with the murder. He was taken into custody near Southwest 23rd Street and Western Avenue on charges of first-degree murder. He has been identified as Dylan Wade Schwenk."

Police then got a warrant to arrest Schwenk, also of Oklahoma City, based on complaints of first-degree murder, robbery with a firearm and felon in possession of a firearm. He was then arrested Friday afternoon following a foot chase with police.

The witnesses claimed that he had run into Alden’s apartment, demanded that they give ‘it’ to him, before firing his gun.

It’s unclear what Alden and Schwenk’s relationship was, although it was reported that they had been arrested together in the early morning of March 28, according to police.

They were said to have been in Alden’s car when she was stopped for having a faded paper tag. They were then taken into custody on active warrants, although it’s unclear what the warrants had been issued for.

Court records obtained by The Oklahoman indicated that Schwenk has a history of larceny and burglary charges, as well as additional felonies, and had been sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted of drug distribution in 2013.
