Katelyn Nardi, 27, was charged with first-degree reckless homicide and neglecting a child resulting in death in court on Monday.

Court documents state that on Oct. 22, her 5-year-old daughter was not feeling well and wanted a bath. Nardi started bathing her and left for at least five minutes to get pajamas. When she came back, she was unresponsive in the tub.

The prosecution also brought up that this is the second child in her care to die. Her 5-month-old daughter died in 2023.

“The facts of this case are of such a nature to demonstrate utter disregard for a child’s life,” said Jacob Collinsworth, assistant district attorney for Lincoln County. “This was not simply leaving a child alone in the bathtub, but leaving her epileptic, epileptic child in a urine-filled, dirty bathtub.”

Court documents also lay out that Nardi and her fiancé were not providing the epilepsy medication to her daughter as prescribed. They had several counseling sessions with doctors advising that leaving her alone in a bathtub could lead to her death.

Personally, I wouldn't have used Ensley as a name after that twatwaffle Janelle from Teen Mom used it. And that poor bitty kind of looks like Janelle too... :bigtears:

I hate Janelle with a passion.

I think her two sons are already so damaged from the abuse she allowed her current husband to abuse (allegedly they are back together.)

He might treat his daughter better but Janelle will model to Ensley that having a man always comes before your children.

I also think Ensley is just an ugly name.

Of the original four only Sophia and Leah were normal. It got worse from there! Oh, and Carly, but I don't know if I'll ever consider Carly a whole ass name. Keep in mind that my name is a nickname too, also derived from Caroline, so I can say that. ;)

ETA: The bad names really got going with the Teen Mom 2 cast...

Yeah, I never got either of those. Why name your child after the German title that was derived from the word Cesar? Just name him Cesar FFS. Lux is straight hood in my opinion. Tacky AF. A bit like naming your three kids Mercedes, Porsche and Bentley. Kailyn also failed with Creed, Verse and Valley IMO. Caitlynn's Vaeda isn't great, Leah's Aliannah and Aleeah aren't great spelling-wise and Kloie? Get out of here with that spelling! :banghead:

It's like the chick that spelled "Carrie" as Kharyie at a restaurant once, like that was the original, natural spelling of my name??? If you don't know, ASK, it's more respectful than butchering a name because you're ignorant!

@Sugar Cookie doesn't "nova" mean new??? that is ok for when they are babies but for an adult not so good so why you child that? like what my parents named me and i still do not like my name and i honestly thought they had made up my name but not long ago found out that it meant petite and feminine which is TOTALY not me lol.. if they knew the meaning then i think it was wishful thinking on their part that i would be like my sister lol... i ended up being taller and heavier (although the surpassed me in weight along the way as i am very much within my weight to my height and age avarage) than my bros lol. and i am a real tomboy even now at my age i would rather do activities that are more suited to men and do it better than most men my own age and younger by at least 10 years lol
