Marline Toussaint, 31, of Gainesville was arrested Thursday after police said she hit a boy with a baseball tee Wednesday and that she had previously punched his tooth out.
Toussaint began beating the boy in the head with a plastic portion of the tee Wednesday after her phone was accidentally knocked into a bathroom sink, according to a Gainesville Police Department arrest report.
Police said the boy sustained multiple cuts on his head and arm, which were bleeding after Toussaint stopped hitting him.
The report says Toussaint made the boy take a shower and refused to let witnesses take pictures of his injuries.
While being interviewed by investigators, the boy said that, in addition to Wednesday’s alleged abuse, Toussaint also punched him in the face a few years ago and knocked a tooth out.
Toussaint said she punched because he was misbehaving.
