"Camden County Prosecutor's Office said in a press release that 54-year-old Joseph Bottino was found dead around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday from stab and blunt-force injuries on the Pine Hill Scout Reservation.

Officials said Bottino left home on Wednesday to go hunting but never returned.

Bottino's family told authorities that he visited the area as he had done "many times" before.

An autopsy on Thursday determined that Bottino's death was a homicide caused by "multiple stab and incised wounds as well as blunt force injuries," prosecutors said."

Massey, officials have said, has mental health issues and has been “aggressive” in the past. He was released from the state prison at Fort Dix in March 2020 after serving 20 months on assault charges.
