Falon Hanna Arrested After Newborn Tests Positive For Cocaine

A Decatur mother is behind bars after giving birth to a baby who had cocaine in his system.

Decatur police say 31-year-old Falon Michelle Hanna gave birth in January to a boy with tested positive for benzoylecgonine, which is the active ingredient in cocaine.


Investigators became aware of the positive test in March, and after a joint investigation with police and the Morgan County Department of Human Resources, they were able to obtain a warrant for Hanna's arrest Tuesday.

Police arrested Hanna Wednesday after finding her at her Beech Street home. She was transferred to the Morgan County Jail on a $2,500 bond.


Police say they don't know whether or not the child will suffer any long-term effects or disabilities

there wasn't any social media back when she was my friend, but we did a lot of crazy shit together. of course, we didn't have children then either. i figured maybe somewhere i'd have some pictures of us, but i don't. she looks super rough now.

Sad. I hope she gets clean -- she's young, she's got a baby who loves and needs her, and she's not totally physically wrecked by addiction, looks like. She could turn this around and save her own life.

There is only one other person I've ever heard of named Falon. No clue her last name, or what state she was from, but I thought CA. We were both part of a program where kids were sent to this rich summer camp. Was pretty fun, but she was...IDK. Not crazy but a little odd. Her and her bf went there together. For a second I was like "wait...maybe". I don't remember her exact age, but 31 would be in the range, I don't think it's her...
