A Euclid 2-year-old is dead after shooting himself, according to investigators.

Euclid Police Cpt. Mitch Houser says the shooting happened shortly after midnight on May 5.

Houser says officers on the scene determined the child found an unsecured handgun inside the home and fired it, shooting himself.

The child, identified as Legend Davidson, died after being transported to Euclid Hospital.
