Enraged monkeys have killed 250 dogs in an Indian district by dragging them to the top of buildings and trees and dropping them.

Panic-stricken residents have also come under attack and say the acts of animal violence have been carried out 'in revenge' after a pack of dogs killed one of the monkeys' infants.

The horrific incidents have been reported in the villages of Majalgaon, where 250 dogs are said to have been killed by rampaging primates, and nearby Lavul in Maharashtra’s Beed district.

According to India's News18 website, 'not a single pup' is left in Lavul where even school children are being chased and attacked.

I have doubts the puppy was the real trigger. I was watching a program not to long ago that covered the effects of the pandemic on animals and these monkeys were a focus of the program.

In India monkeys are sacred so they have never seen people as something to be wary of, only things that bring food. Even before the pandemic the monkeys were known to be hostile. Since the pandemic tourists are no longer going in droves to see and feed the monkeys. Groups that once got along are now running rampant with aggression. They are fighting each other, people, other animals, you name it. The locals 'cant' harm them but have started doing things like throwing rocks at the monkeys which just seems to be making things worse.

Ideally they need to bring in people from a country that doesnt see them as sacred and do some culling. The troops are massive to the point they cant actually do anything about them causing problems without killing some of them off

What India needs is a solution that is some real out of the box thinking.
Here's a way to thin out two problems at the same time.

Make it legal to rape monkeys.
Kids may be targeted less by rapists and monkeys may actually learn their place in the food chain!

Well, if ya need to market the idea, you could always start by pointing out that since the monkeys are "sacred," it would be a chance for these would be rapists to "touch the divine" or some similar type of idiotic religious mumbo jumbo. If ya phrase it right, you might actually get a few takers... NOT that I'm advocating the rape of small animals. I'm just an idea man trying to help other people's dreams come to fruition...

On an unrelated note, is it too soon to make a wisecrack about it "raining cats and dogs"? <--- Ya know... 'cause the monkeys are throwing the dogs off of buildings and out of trees...

@Spider .. I would most happily help you help monkeys to the sacred afterlife and spare them of this atrocity on earth .. @Sudonim I remember watching a show about animals that once coincided with humans peacefully .. especially in tourist areas have become terrorist in those areas because of lack of interaction since COVID .. I am sorry and some people may think it’s wrong .. they are starving in areas like India, China and Afghanistan .. why can we not humanely cull any species like this and share the meat .. provide the meat is disease free and not endangered .. I would support American money going to that kind of relief .. remember I said humanely .. I know that would be to easier .. if not a excellent and permanent solution .. not excluding the states in anyway .. we could not chemically euthanize them and eat them however .. it’s still a solution to real life problems .. however humans have skewed views and it’s not truly just about survival yet ..

ETA .. @Brillig and I are up for up for creating new recipes and taste testing!!

Pretty sure it'd be the people playing bottom bitch and Im not sure we've fallen far enough for planet of the apes yet xD Monkeys are known for raping.

Side note if you wanna see what humans are capable of doing to macaques, look up Dr. Harry Harlow and his pit of despair. Its truly horrifying and really shows just what piles of shit we humans really are.

I'm just going to take your word for it, and my personal experiences. Humans suck. Who needs a photo? :sorry:

Or maybe I'm just a big fat chicken? :chicken:

@BuffettGirl Harry Harlow is to primates what Pavlov is to dogs. I didnt randomly use the term pit of despair, its what the public called it when it become known what he was doing. It includes a 'rape rack'. His work is what spurred groups like peta and other animal welfare groups into making laws on how we treat animals. Like Pavlov we did learn things in the end, but only through gruesome torture.

Oh hell no! You want a prion disease? Because that's what you could spawn.

@McDanel I specified disease free and not endangered .. when we started eating other meats it was the same way out of necessity .. it I am going to be honest .. I was trying to think out of the box and kindly towards humans .. If it were my job to decide with over populated nuisances that are nowhere near endangered .. I would pay $1 US dollar per money killed and call it a day .. and I doubt you would be eating the brain or spinal cord of the monkeys that carry the prion protein ..

Seven, just messing with you, but eating other primates is a major no for me. I think though you should consider Hanuman, the monkey god, companion of Rama, before thinking a cull would be popular.
That'd be a nope from me too. Macaques are old world monkeys and related to humans, we share 93% of our DNA with them. You'd be one step down the evolutionary trail from being a cannibal if you ate one.

Primate suspects: Snarling monkeys bear their teeth from behind bars after being caught by locals who accused them of killing 250 of their DOGS in revenge attack in India

Two monkeys accused of killing 250 dogs in an Indian district by dropping them to their deaths from tall buildings and trees have been caged by locals.

Villagers had reported monkeys setting upon dogs as soon as they saw them before taking them up to a high place - the top of a building or a tree - and dropping them to their death.

The reports say that in the last month alone, 250 dogs have been killed in this way.

According to India's News18 website, 'not a single pup' was left in Lavul where even school children are being chased and attacked.

Pictures in Indian media appeared to confirm the attacks. In one, a monkey can be seen on a roof carrying a puppy to the edge of a building.

Separate footage, possibly of the incident that sparked the revenge attacks, showed dogs chasing monkeys through the village as local women and children ran for safety. The dogs appeared to be protecting a child.

Residents of the village contacted officials at the forest department, asking that they round up the monkeys. But one forest official dismissed the idea that the animals were carrying out revenge attacks.

Revenge is mostly a human construct. Very few animal species have the capabilities for revenge based motives. They cant even decide what the monkeys are avenging. First it was dogs killed a baby monkey(these monkeys are also known for killing and beating their own young so doubtful thats a reason) and now its because a dog chased one single monkey that ran away to safety? Maybe its because people are tossing rocks at them and scaling cliffs etc to hunt them down? Just sayin..

After watching the video at the link. Fuck them people. They deserve to be beaten by monkeys. They have them in a massive cage thats probably over a dozen feet long..but they are locked into a section thats maybe 1 foot long x 3 feet wide. The barring teeth? Yeah they are laughing and poking them with a giant stick all while filming the monkeys freak out. The monkeys arent even snarling, they are just chittering to each other.
