The baby who police say was hospitalized after being abused in Lexington has died.

According to the coroner’s office, 3-month-old Greyson Torres died at Kentucky Children’s Hospital. The coroner says the death is being investigated as a homicide.
The child’s parents are now facing charges in connection with the case. An arrest citation says the injuries to the child were described as being the “result of intentional physical abuse.”

The arrest citation for 20-year-old Amancio Torres-Trevino Jr. says the abuse happened on September 29 when Torres-Trevino was alone with the child.
Kaela Breann Walker, 20, is also accused in the case. Her arrest citation says she never reported the abuse to law enforcement or social workers. Walker filed an EPO against Torres-Trevino for herself and the child on Monday. In the filing, she claims he abused the infant while she was at work Sunday.

Walker and Torres-Trevino were both arrested Tuesday on charges of first-degree criminal abuse.

3 months old. Smh.
I feel so horrible for doctors and nurses who have to see children in such horrible states - especially when it is from a loved one!
During one of my many regular stays at a children's hospital, I befriended a girl (6/7 yrs old) whose father burned their home down with her and her mother in it. The little girl had such serious burns that, not trying to sounds mean, but, she barely looked human anymore. Those nurses became her family. They loved her like their own. And God knows how many children they see suffer or die, but they still work hard to fix up the kids and make them smile. It would be so hard not to get bitter and angry!
