Bridger Walker put himself in harm’s way when he jumped in front of a dog last week that was charging at his younger sister, according to his aunt, Nikki Walker, on Instagram.

Bridger Walker risked his own life to save his sister from a brutal dog attack.
Despite being bitten several times on the cheek by the pooch, whose breed was not specified, the boy was able to grab his sister’s hand and bring her to safety, his aunt said.

“If someone had to die, I thought it should be me,” he told his aunt, she said.

Bridger — who was seen in photos with severe wounds on his mouth, left cheek and eye — required 90 stitches following the attack, his aunt said.

His aunt said the boy is recovering at home and his wounds are “looking so much better.”

“He’s in great spirits, and his awesome personality is intact,” she wrote on Instagram.

Young Mr. Bridger Walker is not only brave beyond words at the tender age of 6, but extremely loving as well.
The love for and sense of urgency to protect his little sister is beautiful, but even more awesome IMO, is that while just trying to rescue her, he also managed to save his own life as well.
Outstanding!
Imagine what he'll be like as an adult, and father - I'm thinking he''l be simply amazing.

From the link.
She said the family holds no ill will against the dog owners, who are “really great people who have been nothing but kind to Bridger and his family.”

“We feel no resentment toward them at all, and — if anything — there’s only been an increase of love between our families as a result of this incident,” Nikki said.

Bullshit. The dog needs to be put down and the owner needs to be sued. He is disfigured and no telling what future surgeries will cost.
It will be cosmetic so no insurance will cover it.

The Avengers reached out to this kid. So far he's received video calls from Tom Holland, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, and Gwyneth Paltrow. It all started with Anne Hathaway who isn't an Avenger but tagged Mark in a Twitter post when she found out Bridger's favorite characters were the Avengers. How cool is that? This kid certainly is a superhero and deserves to feel like one.
