Jurors found Todd M. Mullis, 43, guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Amy Mullis, according to the Telegraph Herald. She was killed Nov. 10 on the couple’s farm about 40 miles west of Dubuque.

Jurors reached their verdict after deliberating about 7½ hours over two days.

Mullis had wanted to kill his wife for years and was irate that she was having an affair and fearful that he’d lose their farm if she divorced him, prosecutors said.

During the trial, Jerry Frasher testified he was having an affair with Amy Mullis, 39, and that she feared her husband.
[....]
“She said she felt like a slave or a hostage around there. She said she was wanting (to leave Todd). One time, she said if he ever found out (about the affair) she would disappear.”

Mullis’ attorney suggested that Amy Mullis startled someone in the farm’s shed where she was found, prompting that person to impale her in the back with a corn rake while Todd Mullis was working in a nearby barn.

A forensic pathologist who performed an autopsy on Amy Mullis’ body testified she was impaled by a corn rake at least twice and possibly three times.

The first-degree murder conviction carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole.

You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, "as greedy as a pig."

yeah ok Brick Top.

An eastern Iowa hog farmer was sentenced Friday to life in prison in the death of his wife, who was impaled in the back with a corn rake.

Iowa District Court Judge Thomas Bitter issued the required sentence of life without parole for Todd M. Mullis, 44. He was convicted in September 2019 in the death of his wife, Amy Mullis, 39, on the couple’s farm.

Mullis has maintained his innocence.....in a brief statement he told the judge, “This is supposed to be America where you have a fair chance of proving your innocence. I thought it was innocent until proven guilty. I feel this was the other way around.”

Prosecutors had said Mullis was furious that his wife was having an affair and feared he’d lose their farm if she divorced him. A forensic pathologist said Amy Mullis was impaled twice and possibly three times with a corn rake, which is similar to a pitchfork.

Most farmers are NOT good people. I would NEVER trust one. These so called "salt of the earth" types, these people society commonly chocks up as the last mainstays of traditional values/morality, are usually representative of the exact opposite and are creepy scum. Small town folk, farmers, firefighters, nurses, religious officials like preachers/pastors/etc., military servicemembers, never trust them as there is a VERY big chance they are vile human beings.

Exactly how many farmers do you know.

Having owned a farm for 13 years, i got acquainted with a bunch. All very good people. Trustworthy and aways willing to help with chores if the need arise.

BTW, you THINK these folks are good people, you dont know what's goin on behind closed doors though

These links works for eurotrash:

There is much personal type evidence that he did it, just not AS much physical.

The couple had marital problems for several years, friends told law enforcement. Months before she died, Amy Mullis told a friend she feared her husband would kill her, saying if she was found dead, "you'll know Todd did something to me," authorities said.

his wife was in a crouched position with a corn rake impaled in her back

That would not have been an instant death, either. The 13 year old son found her like that.

Much more at the links.

I am not sure you've left anyone out, here! But the message is essentially correct. Don't trust ppl, even if culture is somehow identifying them with goodness. Look at the fucking catholic church and its probable hundreds of years of diddling, for example! :)

I found the home / murder location, although there is no google street view. "255th Street" sounds so fucking urban, but hell no. There is even something desolate about the houses here, although it's plainly some big, big-ass farmland all through that area. Zillow matches the approximate Google street view for that block #.

This reminds me of the pig farmer from British Columbia named Willie Pickton. He was an expert pig butcher. Considering texture and size, pigs are often comparable with humans, and the other way around too (especially with cops!!!! But that's another matter.) And because he was skilled at butchering pigs, he also translated that skill toward humans. He was similar to Gein, but I believe had significantly more victims. Also, the area was put on alert because of a rumor, perhaps a legitimate concern, about him feeding his victims to pigs, and even meshing human meat with meat that he helped distribute for consumption. In essence, yeah, he was not one of the good guys. I know the general public prefers their pigs short.

Pickton had confessed to 49 murders to an undercover agent from the Office of Inspector General, who was posing as a cellmate. The Crown reported that Pickton told the officer that he wanted to kill another woman to make it an even 50, and that he was caught because he was "sloppy".

Wow, want to be a serial killer and last for a LONG time? I guess Canada is your place!
