Jakob Chance Scott, 22, and Caylin Opal Marie Monroe, 23, face charges of murder and neglect of a dependent resulting in death. The charges are in connection with the Feb. 15 death of Silas Scott, who was 85 days old.

The Warrick County Sheriff’s Office said the infant was declared dead after he was found unresponsive at a home on Honeysuckle Drive last February.

Authorities said that “information” learned during the investigation led to the charges.

“As the investigation continued, investigators gathered enough information to submit the case for review by the Warrick County Prosecutor’s Office,” the press release said. “The Warrick County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Warrick County Coroner, Warrick County EMS, the Boonville Fire Department, and the Indiana Department of Child Services.”

The press release did not explain what that information was. WFIE reported, however, that the sheriff said the victim died of starvation.

Following their arrests, the suspects remain held without bond at the Warrick County Jail. It’s unclear if they have attorneys in this matter.

Court records reviewed by Law&Crime show that both parents pleaded guilty as recently as January 2022 to charges for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and possession of marijuana. A juvenile paternity case is also active in regards to two of Caylin Monroe’s children, court records indicate.

This is about 10 minutes from my hometown. These 2 asshat clown maggots don't look like they've missed any meals but wouldn't feed baby boy. I'm so tired of reading about these babies who die due to lazy, stupid, drug addicted or any other excuse they come up with parents. I'll be going home in a few months to visit family. I'd love to have about 10 minutes alone in a room with each of these monsters. I only hope and pray the two surviving children never have the misfortune of seeing these monsters again.

Looks like we can stop worrying about COVID, tainted vaccines, Joe Biden, or Russia when some of us are killing off the next generation of Americans. If you do not want a baby, use a reliable form of birth control. If you end up with a baby anyway, ffs, take care of him/her or give the baby up. The last thing you should do is just let the baby waste away until it's dead.

Warrick County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Kyle Tevault interviewed Monroe and Scott, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Monroe allegedly told Tevault her baby was born “small but healthy.” Tevault said Monroe went on to say her child had difficulty growing and that her mother believed “there was something wrong” with the child, the affidavit filed against her said.

The affidavit also states Monroe’s friend asked her why the baby wasn’t growing, to which Monroe allegedly replied, “Yeah, he is a little small.”

The Indiana Department of Child Services previously investigated Monroe after it was suspected she’d underfed one of her other children, police said. DCS referred Monroe to Ireland Home Based Services and required her to keep a feeding log.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Tevault told Monroe her child’s cause of death was listed as starvation, at which point Monroe allegedly asserted “that she fed her children.”

After informing Monroe that the autopsy report showed the baby’s stomach was completely empty, Tevault said Monroe acknowledged she would sometimes miss feedings.
In a separate interview, police said Scott “began to break down emotionally” when discussing the infant’s death. The probable cause affidavit filed against Scott said he admitted to Tevault he would forget to feed the baby, saying, “I’d feed him if he was crying.”
The sheriff's office also said the parents admitted they failed to take the infant to the hospital despite knowing the baby could possibly die without treatment.

Both Monroe and Scott made their initial court appearances Tuesday morning. The court rejected their request to post bond.

I bet these two cretins never forgot to eat.

Two brain cells (male) must not have realized he can fuck without making children that he "would forget to feed."

If you do not want a baby

Did you notice the part of the article that says she had custody issues with TWO OF her children? That wording implies that she has more than two. Are those in addition to the one that Is the subject of this Post? Hell, she is likely pregnant right now (aren’t they all)?
She doesn’t want a baby…not the one she killed, obvs, but also not the ones in the custody dispute.

And leopards don’t change their spots; if she didn’t want the ones she already had, she won’t want the ones she’s likely to have in the future.

The obituary states the baby that died had three siblings. So here’s a 23 year old with four children, somehow acting shocked that a baby will die if you don’t feed it.

A jury has been selected for the trial of Caylin Monroe, the mother accused of murdering her infant child.

The trial began Monday and continued today with sessions scheduled throughout the next few weeks.

As we previously reported, authorities say her child died of starvation in February 2022.
According to officials, Monroe confessed that she skipped feeding the child and would forget about the baby if he was silent.

This picture seems to have filters to conceal the bad shape of the child so they apparently knew about their failure. I would like to advise the jail guards to feed them only if they cry for days on end
Well those filters failed their job because that picture is spooky as shit. I don’t know how anyone looking at that didn’t have major alarm bells going off.

A mother accused of starving her infant has been found guilty of murder and neglect.

Caylin Monroe was arrested back in 2022, after a 3-month-old child died of starvation.

Police say Monroe admitted to not feeding the child sometimes because she "was busy."

A judge sentenced the Warrick County, Indiana, woman convicted of fatally starving her 3-month-old child to serve 65 years in prison during a hearing Friday.

Circuit Court Judge Greg Granger found that 25-year-old Caylin Monroe showed “a lack of remorse,” one of several aggravating factors that led to the decades-long sentence. Granger said there were no mitigating factors.
In October, a jury found Monroe guilty of felony murder after a 10-day trial that had been years in the making. Sheriff's deputies first arrested Monroe alongside the infant's father, Jakob Scott, in April 2022 months after first responders found their 3-month-old infant deceased, according to Monroe's arrest affidavit.
Court records state that Monroe rejected “offers” from the Warrick County Prosecutor’s Office ahead of her trial. Boonville-based attorneys Mark and Brennan Phillips represented Monroe as special public defenders.
