Midwest City Police said Anthony Yonko, 37, and Lisa Mitchell, 30, brought the 7-year-old child to the hospital where they were declared dead by medical staff on Friday.

The arrest affidavit said the child showed signs of rigor mortis and possible internal and external injuries. It said the child was "extremely malnourished weighing only 25 pounds and approximately 36 inches tall."

The affidavit said police were notified by the Medical Examiner's Office and the hospital about the incident at 1:08 p.m. Friday.

After interviewing Yonko and Mitchell, both were arrested and accused of murder.

She didn't anybody's meals, all the meals of all the people in the town she lives in, she ate it all!

Even my oldest, who was small, hell he's still small and he's 45, was more than 25 lbs at 2 years old.

Doctors noted the girl was “wrapped in a blanket,” “extremely malnourished weighing only 25 pounds” and showed signs “of rigor mortis (sic) and possible injuries internal and external.” When working on the child, the doctor said “numerous amounts of black and dark red secretions came from the child’s mouth when pushing on her stomach area.”

“I suspect this child’s entire life, the child was not receiving appropriate care and treatment,” said Joe Dorman, CEO of the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy.

Yonko allegedly told investigators, a few days prior, the child “weighed about 50 pounds and was completely healthy” and they were giving her “crackers and soup because she possibly had the flu” but they had not taken her to the doctor.

New disturbing details have come out after a seven-year-old was brought dead to the hospital with bruises and looking malnourished in early August.

Earlier this week the girl’s cousin spoke to police and broke down that the abuse allegedly came from inside the home and other adults knew about it but said nothing.

Two new arrests came as a result, David Yonko and Tiffany Mitchell, the child’s uncle and aunt.

It was early in August that Anthony Yonko and Lisa Mitchell brought their seven-year-old daughter Violet Mitchell’s body to St. Anthony’s Medical Center.

According to a police report, Violet weighed just 25 pounds and was 3 feet 1 inch tall.

When brought to the hospital she was blue, stiff, covered in dust and soot, and appeared to have internal and external injuries.

Officials said she came in with several bruises, red liquid coming out of her mouth, and overall weighed only 25 pounds. Officials noted that there was more to the story.

The girl’s cousin told police earlier this week that the parents reportedly beat, cursed at, poured hot food on, and more throughout the past couple of months or more.

According to the arrest warrant, David and Tiffany were arrested in connection to the case for allegedly knowing all of the abuse was occurring but not saying anything to the police.

The cousin told police that the parents tortured the girl, pouring hot food on her arms and legs, gluing her mouth shut, hitting her with a broom, and leaving marks.

Violet was allegedly kept in a crib with her arms and hands tied and was also kept in the crib for a long time — possibly a month.

Other accusations according to the arrest warrant included the parents tying Violet’s arms and legs with strings and just leaving her in the crib while they went out. Sometimes, the cousin told police they would quickly untie her but then tie her back up before everyone came back, out of fear.

I wish that would be the case-but lose weight because she is slowly being starved to death and her body starts to eat itself for lack of proper nutrients-oh and a healthy dose of hard daily manual labor outside in all weather conditions too help shave off those pounds! Sadly I am sure this will not be the case, not only do they get 3 high in calories meals a day-but there is canteen too-which people like this do not deserve and none of these beasts will be forced to do true hard time which should include hard daily manual labor. They are all coddled, they do NOTHING all day. They "hang out" socialize with other inmates, watch TV-shit they even get assigned tablets these days with access to the internet and the outside world, can send msgs that way, so what if it's monitored, they are still allowed such privledges-none of that is a right, but these days it seems to be. They are well cared for, people out here that can't afford a tablet or internet and work their asses off and live good lives, are good people and they have it harder than hardcore criminals in prison-prison is a f'n JOKE for the ones that truly deserve it. Have you ever noticed the difference between the original mugshot vs. a new mugshot after some time in jail/prison? They always look heftier and healthier-really pisses me off! I am glad that they arrested 2 more people, people who knew what was going on and so therefore are just as culpable-they literally had the power to save this poor girl and they did NOTHING. That poor girl went thru unspeakable pain and horrors. I am surprised that they even brought her to the ER given that rigor had already set in and the overall condition of that poor babys physical state, all too often beasts like this try and hide the body and act like they are being cared for elsewhere. That poor cousin too, I wonder how old? If the cousin knew this much-well then I am sure the cousins life was none too great either. People like this need to be made to suffer an eternity-here on earth and wherever they go afterwards-hopefully there really is a special place in hell for people like this.

The poor cousin! Sneaking in to let sweet Violet free while everyone is gone, then having to tie her back up. That kid has suffered tremendously too and needs a caring, loving home where they'll get therapy. The guilt and trauma must be tremendous. I hope they get all the care that is needed to at least have some happiness in life and know it isn't their fault.

An autopsy report sheds more light on what killed a 7-year-old girl in Midwest City.

Family members admitted that Violet Mitchell, 7, was starving and beaten frequently. She couldn't walk or feed herself, according to documents obtained by KOCO.

The newly released autopsy report, which was exclusively obtained by KOCO, shows that the child swallowed a baby bottle top, which led to her death.

The child's mom, Lisa Mitchell, and her boyfriend, Anthony Yonko, were arrested for child neglect and aggravated abuse charges.

When Violet Mitchell's body came to the medical examiner, they said she was in a hospital gown, wrapped in a blanket with "sunken eyes, wearing a diaper that was otherwise sized for a 3-year-old."

She weighed just 29 pounds.

Her cause of death was deemed "failure to thrive" after finding a baby bottle blocking her small intestines.

She also had a bacterial infection and injuries to her cheek, shoulder and left leg.

The arrest report showed that one of her cousins told investigators that Lisa Mitchell beat her daughter often, mostly with a broomstick, and would tie her legs with zip ties to the crib.

The cousin said she would untie Violet Mitchell when she could and try to dig glue out of the girl's mouth.

Anthony Yonko's brother, David, and Lisa Mitchell's sister, Tiffany, were also arrested in connection to the case. The charges for all four individuals are now second-degree murder.

Holy shit, my three year old twins are teeny, tiny due to inheriting my and their dads' small genes. They are getting over a cold so their appetites aren't the best but i have multiple snacks in their play area just in case they get peckish. This has once again made me think of the cousin. My heart breaks for her because she must have loved Violet so much to take the risk and overcome the fear of getting caught to try and help her. Imaging one little girl sneaking in a room, trying to untie another little girl and dig glue out of her mouth...then rushing to tie her up again so they won't get caught...it just breaks my heart. Shatters it, really.
As much as I feel for the cousin, I am glad Violet had at least one person who showed her love and affection. She wasn't completely alone.

We have a Violet in our family, she's 6, she likes to read so I asked her what kind of book she liked and she said SPACE Books, a child after my own heart, so for Christmas she's getting "500 Questions About Science", space included. I can't imagine hurting her in any way.

I have a feeling this child was special needs with some kind of syndrome/genetic disorder. At 3ft and 25 lbs sleeping in a crib—something was wrong from the beginning. Also said she couldn’t walk or feed herself.

A 38-year-old father in Oklahoma will spend more than two decades behind bars for fatally abusing and starving his 7-year-old daughter, after he brought the severely emaciated child's body to a local hospital last year.

Oklahoma County District Judge Cindy H. Truong on Thursday ordered Anthony Yonko to serve 24 years in a state correctional facility. Truong handed down the sentence after Yonko pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree murder of a child in the death of young Violet Mitchell. Following his release, Yonko will be required to serve an additional six years on supervised release.

The victim's mother, Lisa Mitchell, is currently scheduled to go on trial next month on one count of second-degree murder.

The victim's uncle, David Yonko, and her aunt, Tiffany Mitchell, both pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and each was subsequently sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Entering the courthouse Thursday, Yonko made one comment, telling a cameraman for Oklahoma City NBC affiliate KFOR, "Don't put me on the news."

The autopsy report from the Oklahoma City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner noted that the 7-year-old victim had "sunken eyes," weighed just 29 pounds, and measured 40 inches in length, referring to her as "essentially skin on bone." She was wearing a diaper sized for a 3-year-old when she was brought to the hospital on the morning of Aug. 2, 2024.

One of the victim's cousins reportedly told authorities that on multiple occasions, Violet had her "mouth glued shut" by her parents.

These kids were blood related to all 4 adults (looks like brothers dated sisters) these poor kids had NO ONE. I do hope the cousin is being cared for and loved, and that one day her wounds will heal (as best as possible) and has a good life. And I really hope the cousin has gotten some psychological help. She deserves happiness forever and to know that it isn't her fault, that she was the one who risked her own health & life to give Violet just even a little bit of comfort, and that is above and beyond what any child would ever be expected to do. No one would have blamed the cousin, a terrified child, if they stayed away from Violet for their own safety. But instead, this child tried to help however possible. It's amazing considering who their "role models" were.
