A homicide investigation is underway after a woman's body wrapped in plastic was discovered in a South Los Angeles home Sunday.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to a home in the 2200 block of Wall Street.

Officials said the woman who called police had gone into her son's room after noticing a "distinct gas smell" in the home. The mother told police that's when she discovered the woman's body inside his room.
The woman's identity has not been released.

Authorities said a possible suspect - a man in his 20s- is being sought.

The victim, identified by authorities as Hannah Rachel Collins, had only moved to Los Angeles from Mississippi in June, a heartbroken relative told The Post.
Collins, who would call to check in with her family “like clockwork” each week, last spoke to relatives on August 7, days after celebrating her 30th birthday.
The suspect in Collins’ killing has been described as a 26-year-old Hispanic man, but the Los Angeles Police Department has not revealed any further details and he remained at large as of Wednesday afternoon.
It was not immediately known when Collins died or how. The LA County coroner said an autopsy had been completed but the cause of death has not yet been made public.

The woman’s son was nowhere to be found at the time of the gruesome discovery.
It’s unclear how long Collins had been in his bedroom or how she knew the suspect.
A family member of Collins confirmed to The Post she had been found inside the South LA home.

A friend, who did not want to be identified, told The Post the pretty blonde was “fun, kind and loved music and dancing but, ultimately, drugs took a hold of her.”
The friend said Collins’ comes from a “wonderful family,” who tried their best to help her, but that they drifted apart when Collins started to pursue a party lifestyle.

“I’m in shock because what I want to associate with Hannah is the happier and healthier memories I have of her. She probably sought that lifestyle with drugs, but you never imagine the end would be so cold and cruel.”

That photo startled and disturbed me. She looks EXACTLY like my cousin. They could be identical twins other than the hair color.

How sad that her life choices led to this and how horrible for the woman who found her body. 30 years loving and raising a son just to have him leave you a dead body and take off.

So much trauma caused by one loser piece of shit. I hope they find him and execute him.

Found this on Reddit so take with a grain of salt

The reason why the man's name was not released is because his father is a police detective for LA County.

Collins cause of death was a result of a meth/fentanyl overdose.
