A 23-year-old woman left marijuana accessible for a 2-year-old who was found unresponsive at the end of June with the drug in their system, Chambersburg police said.
Police were called June 30 to Chambersburg Hospital after the toddler was brought in for treatment. Test results showed they had THC in their system — the active component of marijuana, police said.
The child’s current condition is unknown.
Chambersburg police discovered marijuana and paraphernalia around Alexis I. Barrett’s kitchen and living room which could have been reached by children, police said.
Barrett was charged last month with endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering another person and drug paraphernalia possession.
