A 32-year-old man wanted in connection with the death of a 3-month-old girl in Athens County earlier this year was arrested Wednesday, over a week after he was indicted for murder.

The Athens County Sheriff's Office had been searching for William "Alex" McCallister. He was indicted by a grand jury on Oct. 26 on charges of murder, endangering children, felonious assault, corrupting another with drugs and permitting drug abuse.
The infant's parents, Justin Dye and Hannah Edinger, also face a criminal charge in connection with her death, according to the Athens County Prosecutor's Office.

The sheriff's office said Dye and Edinger left their daughter in McCallister's care on Feb. 21.

"During this time, McCallister is alleged to have inflicted fatal injuries upon the child, resulting in her death," Sheriff Rodney Smith said in a news release.
The prosecutor's office said the baby died on Feb. 26, but charges had not been filed for months as an autopsy determined her cause of death. Officials have not released the autopsy's findings, but said it was completed on Aug. 28.

The prosecutor's office said Dye and Edinger were charged because "both parents permitted their infant daughter to go to a residence where she was subsequently involved in the circumstances that led to her death."
Dye and Edinger were both indicted on Oct. 26 on one count of endangering children. They were taken into custody two days later, according to jail records.

Hannah is pregnant and on drugs. Reportedly the parents would leave the little girl with McCallister for days on end. The girl was beaten to death but also had healing injuries so determining who injured her is what prolonged the investigation. It is also alleged that McCallister abused his own daughter but CPS closed the case a week before the infant was killed.
