For her baby or herself?

A Waco woman has been sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to felony murder in the death of her 8-month-old child in 2023, according to the McLennan County District Attorney's Office.
Nichole Ann Green was arrested in December 2023 and charged with murder and endangering a child after her 8-month-old baby was found dead at her home, having reportedly died from the "toxic effects of methamphetamine" in her blood, according to documents.
The District Attorney's Office stated Green (spelled Greene in the statement) pled guilty to felony murder in the 54th District Court on May 1, 2025, and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Green will reportedly be eligible for parole after serving 20 calendar years, but the District Attorney's Office stated she is "unlikely to be paroled upon eligibility."

The District Attorney's Office stated Green was a "user and distributor of methamphetamine, and her infant child died as a result of exposure to the drug."

“While this innocent child’s death was unintentional, this Defendant’s actions demanded a severe penalty," Assistant District Attorney Will Hix said in a statement. "Nicole Greene’s irresponsibility and her insistence on participating in the delivery of illegal narcotics caused the death of her child, so this sentence ensures that she will remain in prison until she can no longer have children, while also eliminating the risks associated with trial and appeals.”
