I don't usually comment when people complain about how lenient the UK justice system is, because I sort of agree; but when did anything like this ever happen? I am truly at a loss as to where this suggestion came from?
I'll just throw a few cases out, rather than sit here and write too much.
Abu Qatada, terrorist. Sued for 'unlawful detention'.
Rupert Massey, pedophile. Sued for 'stress'.
Class action by multiple UK prisoners. Sued for 'access to methadone in lieu of heroin access'.
Stuart Blackstock, armed robbery. Sued for 'minor delays regarding his prison release'.
Kirk Dickson. Sued for 'the human right to artificially inseminate whilst jailed'.
George Blake, spy. Sued for 'the right to profit on a book he wrote about his crimes whilst in jail'.
Michael Abodebolajo. Murderer. Sued for 'compo' after losing 2 teeth after attacking a guard.
Chire Henderson. Suing now for 'suffering' from an alleged rat bite.
Joanne Dennehy. Serial killer. Suing now for 'not liking being segregated in jail' and also because 'jail makes her tearful'.
Graham Courts, murderer. Sued for 'compo' for being made to wear a prison uniform.
Abdul Mial, terrorist. Sued for 'racial discrimination' for having a female prison officer pat him down.
Abdullah Ahmed Ali, terrorist. Sued for 'compo' because his mail was opened and checked by the prison.
Noel Jennings, burglar. Suing for 'compo' from hitting his head by accident while 'play fighting' with another inmate.
All of these scumbags have used the EU Human Rights laws - and sued or are suing now, the UK government via their breach of these laws in the EU Human Rights Courts.
In March this year, Justice Minister Dominic Raab has authorized a 'crackdown' and audit on prisoner compensation payouts after climbing to over ten million pounds, stating while its important for the prison system to be held accountable for their actions, frivolous compensation claims are showing a marked increase.
