Officers responded to a home on May 1 after receiving a report of a possible dead child. Upon arrival, they discovered both toddlers dead in a bed they shared.
Police confirmed a family member made the initial 911 call.

"The Payette Police Department is actively investigating a tragic, tragic incident involving death of two 18-month twins that occurred yesterday here in Payette city," said Police Chief Gary Marshall. "Officers were dispatched regarding a possibly deceased child. Upon arrival, the officers actually discovered that there were two deceased children in a shared bed."
Investigators are treating the case as a homicide, with foul play suspected. The Payette Police Department is conducting interviews as part of the ongoing investigation.

"Due to the sensitive nature of the incident, we are not releasing much information at this time. We are actively investigating it," Marshall said. "My detectives are currently in Ada County as we speak, at the autopsies. We are hoping that answers to this situation will be coming in the near, near future."
