Texas 10YO Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Fellow Student On Bus

A 10-year-old boy was arrested over allegations of sexually assaulting a fellow student on a Texas school bus in February.

Early Police Chief David Mercer said the students were riding the bus after school on Feb. 6 when the driver got off and went outside to assist a handicapped student.

While he was gone, the 10-year-old allegedly sexually abused a 9-year-old girl.

The girl’s mother told KTAB and KRBC they were the only students left on the bus because their classes got in trouble and they had to stay on campus late.

After an investigation that included a forensic exam, the 10-year-old was arrested and charged with sexual assault — his case being processed through the juvenile justice system.

DNA evidence was taken from both the victim and the 10-year-old for lab analysis.

It is possible we have a sexually abused child that sexually abused another child.

I hope both children receive forensic evaluations and are provided with counseling.

Oh wow. I live less than 30 min from this town. It runs right into Brownwood, TX. You can not tell the two cities apart. I want to say that Early is a 2-3 A school. There are not many children that go there. We used to compete w Early when I lived in Brady. How sad.

I’m with you. That kid learned that behavior somewhere, and whether they saw it happen or experienced it, those parents absolutely need to be investigated.

Around here it's normal for the bus driver to be the only adult on the bus. (Il)
