An 11-year-old boy’s large cache of weapons was revealed after he was arrested and perp walked for allegedly bragging about shooting up two schools.
Carlo ‘Kingston’ Dorelli was taken into custody on Monday after he partook in a Facetime call with fellow Creekside Middle School students and ‘showed the rest of the group a bunch of guns and knives’, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Spectrum News 13.
A stockpile of more than a dozen replica guns, knives and swords were seized by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office in Florida and shared with the public in a video and photos.‘Since parents don’t want to raise your kids, I’m going to start raising them,’ stated Sheriff Michael Chitwood sternly.

Despite the fact that he couldn't have gotten too far with the weapons he has, this is a MASSIVE scream for intervention. It's his intent that's the trouble at this age. Not the functionality of the 'weapons' in this case...

How does an 11-year-old become so depraved and disturbed that he amasses weapons, both real and fake, with this strong of an interest in committing a school shooting?

Punishing him is going to get tricky, too. If a late-20-something had a collection of weapons like this, (s)he would be put under the jail likely for life, no question. But with today's suspect being 11, should he be tried as an adult over this? On the one hand, most pre-teen offenders do not recognize the full seriousness of their own offenses, and perhaps have not lived long enough or had this detail of rearing adequately curated to them.

However, stockpiling these weapons and bragging about possible intentions to commit public violence is a very severe thing to do. (And also foolish, from the braggart angle.) I wouldn't quite support giving an 11-year-old a life sentence over this, but he needs some serious damn help and accountability yesterday! It will likely take him and those around him years to make him unlearn this disposition toward and glamorizing of violence, and for him to unlearn whatever horrible things he was exposed to at such a young age.

I think there would be no sense at all to someone attempting to charge an 11 year old with some crime. Do you remember being 11? If so, you probably remember the truly incomplete state of mind you were in. It's a literal child with literal toys.

I would bet it is not so uncommon for a young child who is having a terrible school experience to wish to destroy their school and in the right environment, show it in this kind of way.

If the weapons were real, I would think that, at least in a good US state, it would be legal for an adult to own those kinds of things. Threatening to shoot up a school with it however would be a different thing.

Toy guns are supposed to have a colored band around the barrel to indicate it's not real, I think orange is the color. Without it, law enforcement can assume it's a real when charging crimes.

We had a ton of air soft weapons when the kids were young, other than the mess from the beads all over, it wasn't a big deal
During that period paintball guns were very popular and we had quite a few birthday parties at paintball parks, were you had teams and wars
The only issue here might be the kids attitude, they need to find out if the kid is just trying to be cool or is he mentally ill
It seems like most of his toy weapons do have the orange tip, although some might have broken off
